NC those sure do look nifty. They do look like robust pellies. But speaking of wood libs here's today's find.

Regular libs!

Yes it's a fresh P. stuntzii specimen. I have never found such a prolific patch of this species before; the place is covered with them.

Oh gosh if they are indeed stuntzii I've walked by so many.
They don't bruise easy or fast, right? If this is a stuntzii then yes they grow very prolifically, in scattered faerie rings where swampland(ish) grass meets sedge, surrounded by pines with a bunch of old harbor wood. Old enough to have its own dirt and habitat atop (sand soil bushes sedge fungus woody soil). I knew I should've kept those. Damn it. Was getting fishy being there though so at least there's that.
Come to think of it, woodsmokingasian found one there last year.

Found two more small patches today! Ran out of light and only took this photo. Willamette Valley
Hoping to spread them around to a few good looking areas where I'm not finding them this year.

After having been buried in 10 inches of mulch last summer, this patch finally surfaced after two years on hiatus.

Very nice! Did you snag those 4 hidden ones on the bottom left and the others on the top right? Shuffle ivy and fallen leaves around? Welcome to the boards by the way. I was down in Eugene today and poked around a little. There are some worked patches, someone's cleaning up. I never find anything in Corvallis though. Got a buddy who travels too. Mid Valley is on, get your poncho and mudboots.

Wonderful indeed! That is fantastic. In before people tell you it was too deep haha. Do you soak and drain chips? Three farmers swear by using the leeched wood water. Someone who does ovoids just brings decaying logs to their patch so it does it by itself and provides cover. Wood loving mushrooms are keen on rye grass clippings, too. I clumped a fist full of chips together and made a ball, covered in soil and it's a month later. Very fast but also fragile this way.
Patches also love strawberries for cover and getting critters to move myc around. Shredded blackberry brambles are top notch and you can just hand toss them in.
Someone here colonizes a tub of chips inside and sticks paper towel tubes in. Colonized chips and butts get dropped in them and when it's a solid cylinder they throw them in when mulching. Don't forget too that some big giant honking chips aren't a bad thing either. Please whatever you do don't sawdust it. Very nice work I'm impressed. Good job.

Thanks Adden, I actually didn't take those. There were older ones and more matures I picked. I didn't see the ones bottom left until after looking at the photo and didn't see top right until you pointed it out.
Thanks for the tips, appreciate any help I can get. I love the rain!
