Bout 5 years is longest I've been able to save one and id say prolly roughly same potency of completely dry mushrooms compared to fresh, but with a yummy candy coating.
Also they honey kinda turns blue for about 2 years and makes pbj more fun.
Sounds awesome, thanks mate

Dehydrater then vacum seal in jar with White stuff. When the season is over i open all jars and mix mushrooms for equal potency. Vacum seal individual dose in plastic so when you accsesd them no need to expose them all to the air. Freeze vacum sealed bags.

Well... I had hoped "for years" with the mason jar vac method, but I had some cyans from 13 I recently pulled out from the dark cupboard and they seem to have lost most of their potency. I think the addition of oxygen absorbers and then keeping them frozen after vac packing would yield much better results.
Huh, i haven't noticed a big difference but i do put some sort of desicant in each jar. Just wondering were they completely cracker dry? Dehydrator or fan method. I could see them losing much potency if there is any moisture in them when you jar them up.
I have never froze them, but also the longest i have ever kept any was 2 years. I ussually just give them away if i have any left in the late summer. Because i can pretty much count on finding more in the fall.

Got ou this morning and finally found a decent spot doing something. This is a new spot for me, but real close to a spot I found ovoids this spring. The ovoid patch is not doing anything but spreading. There was several hundred pins and almost stepped on a few.

Yup, cracker dry. I'm an old hand at drying stuff.
I probably should have jettisoned them at 2 yrs, they were squirreled away pretty good.
Since they seem to be no fun, any value in throwing them in the blender with some water and inoculating some fresh alder chips?

What a day.
Woke up to a small pin popping up in my pot. Cant wait to see the little guy grow.

This makes the first time I've successfully cultivated them!
Then I went to a spot that had my eye on all season last year when I found a small pin that bruised blue. I saw a small pin, picked it, it bruised and then there were no more... I learned from that mistake. All season it only grew that one pin.
Walked over to that same spot today for the first time this year and I was excitedly surprised!! So cool to see a location go from one pin to this in just a year! They are growing from mulch that is very woody, and also has a bunch of black berry(ouch!) This is my first neighborhood location!

The blackberries made the picking take longer, which was unfortunate because a neighbor across the street saw me in the bushes picking......i'm going there at night from now on....

Hi all, relatively new to the game, I went for a little hunt during the storm today and came across these. They were hiding in the underbrush beside a path in some wood chips, very active mushroom area. I was hoping someone could give me an ID, or point me in the right direction. PSILOCYBE CYANESCENS?
I'm drying them now and taking a spore print. Shotty camera doesn't do justice but they seem to be bruising blue. They have a bit if a film on them.

Nothing crazy just some of my cultivated Allenii in pots.

A half picked azure fairy ring. Not sure why untill I had picked half.

And some variations of Azures. Probably a dune cyan mixed in. Glad I went before they got covered in sand from the wind storm.

Worth a try. If you are going that route i would do the slurry tek. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13425527/fpart/1/vc/1
Nice azures viridis 420. Props on the allenii Hunter, my allenii pot had two pins before the storm but a slug got to them. And to all keep the pics rolling.

This season just came into swing for me in the south Puget Sound. I have found hundereds and hundereds of Cyanescens in new (to me) spots this last week without even bending over to search. I'm lucky enough to have a job which lets me walk around all areas of my city, so I have a serious advantage.
I've already spotted more than I could ever handle, mostly pins still.. I only picked a couple ounces last year and I only ate 2 grams personally, so I don't need much. Remember folks, for every mature you pick, let 1 rot back into the earth. There are plenty to go around, trust me!
I decided that lurking around city parks was not on my agenda for a Saturday afternoon, so before the storm I spent awhile crawling around the forest floor looking for some true wild Cyanescens. I found these little guys after about 5 minutes, then nothing for the next hour. I'm definitely not going to pick these, just observe. They are too beautiful and delicate to mess with. I'll post more pics next weekend as they mature.

Awesome! Inspiring! Ive always wanted to find some "Natural" forest cyans (or any Psilocybe for that matter) I've understood that its a rare thing to find.... I always look out for them when I'm in the forest for edibles, but no such luck...
I want to get out there and find some now!

I feel so lucky, I swear they just revealed themselves to me! I followed some type of gallerina off the trail, they led me right to these guys. Those little pins are growing right out of a chunk of ammaciated tree, the wood was INCREDIBLY soft, like you could sink your pinky finger right if if you wanted. It was a very shady spot, almost needed a flashlight even though it was a sunny afternoon.
I hope these tips help you out. It was very satisfying find but I would not recommend searching in the woods if you're looking to bring home a haul. Then again I'm a total n00b
