No I'm not, but both fruited in this area last year, it probably is one from stem length alone.. but, hardly any stem was visible, I saw it because of the rim of the cap. These grow in there too.

It is a weird year when mid Valley and SW Oregon are fruiting more and better than some parts in WA. The monsoon should finish the dry season for everybody.

Giant psychedelic mushroom works for me. I'll edit the post. Later this season I'll get some pictures of that spot flushing and see what you guys think. It's.. weird. Then they trail down the hill in clusters but never a big sheet like the Monster. There's a day and night difference, guess just not on these guys, or yet.

I'm going to have to drug and hogtie Mr Piggy or someone and haul their ass out to that place. It's clear during the season that you're picking two different psilocybes side by side through this hill which is basically a patch. Then it comes down to this lower area where sedge and grass has prevented it from becoming swamped. It's flanked by tubaria, hypholoma and mycenoids so it doesn't really seem there unless you walk 10 yards through lookalikes into what appears to be nontypical habitats. Bunch of psathyrella. They taste strongly of badly scented alcohol gel but have zero odor. I collected these on the outlying area. After them it's a bit of a hard walk just seeing indicators but then you're just in the thick of it.
Then on the other "side" (I guess) there's allenii and azures but no cyan-ie mushrooms. There are 3 proper and obvious different phenos, on the same and also varying substrates. It's where stropharia pseudocyania grows out of sand and where Mycena subcaerulea are. I have to get those collections this year.
And yeah I'm sure you guys are right just an azure with a ridiculous woody stipe. I don't know. I will take a video this year if I can't get someone more knowledgeable than I to come along.

Nice Adden, thanks for sharing those beauties! I checked my normal spots on the north OR coast here yesterday and still haven't even found a pin! Maybe my spots are just getting tired and need to do some more exploring.
But you're right, the next few days of 1-2" of rain should really pick things up in the Azure dept.

Coastal Southern Oregon- near the dunes. Founds these just about everywhere in the dune grass up and around 4-wheeler trails.

Why would I have eaten them? lol. I hunt for a chance to maybe eat one (one of these days), but gotta have some actual identification skills first.
If I find any that I *might* hope is a good one I'll post it on here with clear pics, spore prints, all dat stuff.
Even with that said I aint rushing n eating it one the first IDreply- Share my ID. Collect collective info from posting here, and decide from there.
I hear dying from eating bad mushroom is not the pleasant way to go. I fergot that was my first post- I might be "new" but I've been reading on here for years n years yet lived in Central Oregon- but now I've just recently finally moved to the Coast (Reedsport area) like alright alright alright first 'real' mushroom season for me. ^.^
