Nice find krawl, those cyans look great. Were they growing in just grass or wood chips?

Wood chips along the edge covered by the surrounding grass. It's a small patch that I found last year that turns out a decent amount Two of my other local spots the parks have removed their wood chips.

It's really depressing and all I can come up with is they've realised what the chips grow.

The three parks now I've seen have just removed the wood chips and down to bare dirt.

I think those are Armillaria mellea, nice find but they don't fit the bill of this thread.
And I've seen bark dumped over chips. And some spots all the chips bulldozed into a pile.
Guess who's gonna be diggin in them piles...

In Eugene, the parks generally replace woodchips with fresh ones bi-annually. I've found a load of cyans in woodchips by the flower garden in October only to find that the wood was replaced by newer chips later that month.

Anyone in the south end of seattle? It's my first year trying hunting, and I was thinking about going to seward park for activities, and maybe washington park arboretum. Anywhere else good to look?

Pretty sure its against the rules of this site to name drop locations even in this fashion. Just gotta get out there and look. Read as much in the pnw active thread from years past, helped me out alot. all the info you need and more is on this site to find a lot of actives if u so desire.

Went out for my first hunt of the fall season today, struck out. This rain we are having should help get things moving.
Glad its this time of year again, miss my walks in the rain.
As far as first Azzies for the year does this count? 9/23/16
 9/29/16

Planter box I started in the spring of 2015. Took a piece of the gills from a dried specimen and put it to agar then went from there. I have been waiting patiently for this one.
And as far as parks and rec with the wood chips. My first year hunting I stumbled upon a massive patch. I found it a little late but there was a bunch the patch went down a gully for about 100 feet and about 30-40 feet wide and it was all covered by ground cover. Still probably the most epic patch of cyans I have seen. Next year rolled around and I thought I would be johny on the spot and hit it early and often. Went the first time around the end of sept. parks and rec had tore the whole thing up. Everything was rak raked into piles wood chips and ground cover. nothing but dirt. must have been on purpose as it was the only place in the whole park torn up.

Dear everyone, this is a thread for posting positively identified active finds. There is a chitchat and speculation thread for chitchat and speculation.
Please post an ID request in it's very own thread if you would like an ID on a find, this is not the place.
Here's a handy link to the chitchat and speculation thread.

Yeah this thing put out some pretty good strawberries this year compared to last year. Its pretty crazy how it clustered so densely right at the base of the strawberry plant.
