Potency has little to do with when your mushrooms flush. It has more to do with genetics.
That's good to know. It seemed like an interesting concept, but also like a waste of time without any GC proof that it ACTUALLY works. I read a post just a minute ago by FrankHorrigan that more or less backed up fruiting at 100%; his reasoning was that he notices far fewer aborts when he doesn't force his substrate to colonize and develop pins for growing conditions that are about to change completely when FAE is introduced.

I saw cron post this line of logic in the azure thread. It doesn't quite make sense to me though. If its eating the substrate earlier, its not like these digested nutrients are just vanishing into thin air. You'd think the mycelium would store it up and then when its time to fruit, there they are ready to be made into fruits.
Heard pasty mention pros/cons of this, what might those be? other than the obvious ones anyway

patchier first flush is the main downside. Lower pinning times, and faster colonization are a couple of the perks. What is lost in a nice first flush is often gained in a fantastic second flush I've played around with it a bit.
I think a general consensus is that you can spawn to a tub that's dialed in very tightly to colonize, then open her up a bit to fruit. But everyone has preferences. It does seem to also help reduce blobs when growing PE

thanks dank. thats good news about the PE, my last attempt at those was 100% blobs, very disappointing.

I think another part of the argument here (against full colonization/consolidation) is that if the first flush is given extra time to consume the nutrients, they'll eat more than their fair share before maturing, meaning later flushes won't get a decent nutrient supply. So it's finding that balance where you see a nice, even first flush while trying not to deplete your sub if you want to pull several flushes.
Kindly correct me if I'm way off.

Exactly dank. But I will suggest that with good genetics and conditions a decent first flush can still be had. The method really shines with PE.

Yeah, well… I have two mini monos knotting up of PE that I spawned on Friday the 2nd. They were both dialed in a bit tightly at spawning. They both look like they're about to pin nicely. I hope they do too, because my summer has been pretty full of fail

I have two hybrid mini monos of PE absolutely exploding right now...but they were not fruited at spawn I colonized them 10 days then exposed to FAE. But they began pinning on their own before fruiting.

Fruiting conditions encourage fruiting. That is all.
