Is this lid sealing method is fine?

Hi, I'm a beginner in cultivating mushrooms, I made some holes in a jar lid and put some high temperature resistant silicon in the holes. I have seen that some people let one hole without silicone and cover them with polyfoam. I plan to slightly loose the lid and cover it with aluminum foil. So I can inoculate the jars whit no contamination risk. So, I'm doing it right?

The jars need gas exchange you just covered all the holes.... Doing the PF TEK? Just follow the directions....
If that's for a grain jar lid you only need one injection port.
If i were you. Go back to square one and follow directions rather than making it up as you go.

Thanks for your answer. I alreadyb messed up, I made some "big" holes I'm the lids. Can I just open one for gas exchange and leave the other with silicone? And can I cover the open hole with micropore tape or cotton since I don't have other solution available?

Yes. Usually the GE hole is about a 1/4" though but anything is better than nothing. Cover it with micropore tape.

You should be cultivating reptiles and fish, not mushrooms.
