GWM-UK said: Hi Solarity. That must've been quite a while ago when you had a bad experience with my spawn. Probably when I was going through the break-up with my partner who used to produce the grain spawn. And that didn't end well either! One of the major reasons why we split up (amongst other things). She just couldn't hack it, and wouldn't listen.
I am now in much better premises with a much better lab, and my spawn is consistantly high quality. You could always give me another try...
I would move my operation across the pond just to have mycelia. But then again prices of fresh mushrooms are about 50% lower in the EU compared to US

I have updated both teks again, I have removed the liquid seaweed. It is no longer needed, and increases risk. With increased raw tea, I require less additives. All data and tests found was on used tea.
Here is one of the websites I found data. It is difficult to gather raw tea data. So in conclusion, the test is correct, however unused is more effective.
Oyster's indeed seem to be specifically able to digest tea carbons. The tea its self will also count towards nitrate addition.
Theophylline: C7 | H8 | N4 | O2. Theobromine: C7 | H8 | N4 | O2. Caffeine: C8 | H10 | N4 | O2. Theaflavin: C29 | H24 | O12. Tannins: C76 | H52 | O46. Catechin: C15 | H14 | O6. Carotene: C40 | H56.
Requires further testing.

I'm confused by your teks, have you run fruiting trials on these additives/preparations?
You have mentioned "High yield" a couple of times but I'm not seeing any fruiting data to back this up. ie different ratios against a baseline un-supplemented batch, with flush yields, flush spacing, quality etc. under the same conditions.
As a commercial grower I am very interested in your work but unless I am missing something your posts read as if you have tested these formulae and had success, but am i right in thinking that it is mostly theoretical ?

Yes you are right, I'm working with tested data and adjusting experiments. Sorry for confusion.
I'm having to start again, as the spawn did not work out. I've contacted the vendor. He's now adjusting his lab, he supplied images, and will contact me soon.
I have put both the Summer and Tarragon outside to fruit.
----
I have managed to find an analysis for raw tea.

Currently testing:
40g > Golden oyster WBS spawn.
1.25g > Miracle-Gro® SPF. 100g > Dry Pellets. 40g > Raw Tea.

Hmm.. that has a familiar ring to it !
I don't have any phoenix spawn at the moment as I just started running some Pseudo Ulmarium (white oyster) instead, but I'll probably be making a batch (60kg) in a few weeks so I can wing you some for comparison - I can always seal off a bit in a bag.
I would urge you though when you run your test to do a standard one alongside, and for contamination detection don't forget to run blanks.

Ok, will do. I have recently been setting up new grow areas, new assembly areas, and new equipment. Still in general hobby based, and using open air safe DIY substrates, moving on later.
I can't get hardwoods easily, even worse if its a specific one.
So far the updated T-Tek is working as intended. Plain paper pellets vs T-Tek that is.

I'd like to see you do 50/50 paper and pine pellets if you can find them.

Plain paper pellets or T-Tek and pine? My last tests where 50/50 pine and WL Tek. King oyster did very well, Golden oyster flopped completely.

That being said the T-Tek has had a massive impact to growth so far. T-Tek and pine 50/50 could produce different results.

Ok TravelAgency, update for you. Full pass for tea and oysters. Golden oyster is about 8x stronger than previous tests.
Testing Golden on pine tells me its very fussy.
