Yeah, but do most 7 year olds even know what a high person looks or acts like? Are they even familiar with the concept of "getting high?" This is why it's creepy.

Yeah, I definitely do that "passive, tunnel vision" thing at times, but I don't think that's the norm when I'm watching him. Obviously no one can 100% actively engage all the time, so that's why it works out great that his mom & I are a team. I'm being lazy AF right now, she's playing with him. I'll take over when she craps out. But I think that to address your statement above, if I was too exhausted to be actively involved in the first place, I wouldn't want to take acid anyway. For me, at least, taking drugs like that when I'm already tired means that my mind will be even more worthless than if I took them when I was feeling great.
All I'm saying is that for me, this would never be a good idea.

That's why the kid said "you're in la la land" instead of "you're stoned stupid again". No, the kid can't visually identify the intoxicating affects of marijuana, specifically, but he could tell when the guy was highly altered. Which, again, it doesn't take a telepath to recognize when someone is acting in a way that they usually don't. A 7 year old can see that stuff.

I'll hang out with my toddler son and play with my baby daughter if I'm tripping and they are around, but there's no way I'd keep at it once they are old enough where I feel they would have a certain comprehension of my frame of mind. I would never be solely responsible for them in this case and if I ever feel I'm further gone than is appropriate I'll walk. Hanging with my kids while a little trippy have been some of the best times I can think of. Playing with my dog is pretty amazingly fun too but that's a different thing.

As a parent I understand a little more than you do the intelligence of a child. "Good beer daddy? Good beer?" Says my 2 year old. Yeah, I'd say a large majority of children would recognize an altered person.

I also don't have children.
Only 8 nieces and nephews that I spent a lot of time with them growing up, babysitting and stuff like that.
So my opinion is not based on the experiences and feelings of having my own child.
I may feel the same way Burke does if I had my own kid.
