Saprotrophic mushrooms eat wood. There's more than one species of magic mushrooms. Many here grow on wood.

Oh I'm thinking blue meanies when I'm in the cow pasture. I'm trying to find an active species on wood for the first time, and a new species on dung loving besides cubes basically.

It's nice to be back for the fall season and read the familiar writing.

I can't wait until flail mowers come and pull the brambles out to reveal these firecracker fuckers. I think some of these were when I figured out how to slide sideways through time. 2g had me going for 8 hours and I was still tripping while picking the next morning and still glowing by afternoon.
I may have to do some bramble cutting myself and save the maintenance workers some time.
Pretty af, potent af.
Right out the ground and into a dehydrator about 30 minutes later.

Do your homework and know exactly what you are about. There are lookalikes to woodlovers that can and will kill you.

So I did see some areas in azureland that had a newer layer of chips than last year. Around historical markers and benches and bike paths, or little landscaped areas with placards and stuff.
I think they put it there in spring, and it's not far from where they would be chipping on site. I look forward to exploring these areas, even if they're not right *on* the coast. Man, I love picking season, there's so many places to explore out here. Blows my mind.

that's funny you mention that mulch around the benches (and other stuff). it crossed my mind the other day that i should start thinking of the elusive fall east coast ovoids and i've got one spot in particular where they mulch under these rando benches that overlook the water. i found a few right under the benches last spring in that mulch you speak of.
under those benches was a tiny, micro-est of microclimats where the ground didn't dry quite as quick after nighttime dew and rainshowers so it held moisture just that little bit longer.
of course much of the the PNW is a different ballgame wrt to moisture. just a coincidence to read your post today.

I've found shit tons around historical marker benches. They're just sitting there ripe for the picking most of the time. How I found my first allenii. No one actually sits on the darn things for the most part. Dogs tend to ignore psilocybes which makes me feel better about consuming them.
