Yeah that's blocking airflow. Air needs to flow from the holes in the bottom up through the perlite and create humidity that reaches the cakes. As it stands all the humidity is under the cakes, if there's in fact enough air flow to create the humidity in the first place.
Set the cakes on jar lids, the rings for the jars, on pieces of foil, or something, so that they cover as little airflow as possible.
For anything else that would be a great idea, unfortunately for this it works against you.

So I was 25% right! Ahhh, fuck it, already threw it away and let them rest on some foil squares. Might have to trim those down, perlite needs to breath too right?

The perlite is the main thing that needs air flowing through it, yes.
