Oysters? (again)
    #23634281 - 09/10/16 10:49 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:
Grows on a wooden stump, in a mixed pine/aspen forest. Alberta.

Gills:
Beige, decurrent. On young specimens covered by yellowish webby partial veil (see pics).

Stem:
2-5 cm length, 1-2cm diameter, tan-brown, firm, fibrous, solid. Flesh color white. Has sheath-like remains of yellowish veil. Flesh is foam-like inside (see last pic).

Cap:
5cm is the biggest I've seen, but that cluster was young I think. Brown, leathery texture. Flesh color white.

Spore print color:
Developing, will update if I get something.

Bruising:
No change.

Other information:
Smells like oyster mushrooms (but doesn't look like them). Flesh is fairly firm.

Colors look more correct on the first set of pictures, on the stump.

Partial veil.

Those two are ingrown -- one cap 2 stems

Growing from a stump? I was going to suggest something in Lentinula.

Thanks, I'll check out those ones.

Unfortunately spores didn't develop. Probably it was too young (or it was too dry for a while).
