Well if you case immediately, then you should immediately put into fruiting conditions as well, otherwise that is what happens. What did you case with?
I would just let it fruit.

Leave it alone. If it's pinning you just wanna let it do its thing. Props on doing BRF to bulk though. I wish more people would do that instead of fruiting cakes in a shotgun tub. Slurried PF cakes work really well in mini monos.

How small of a hole can I get away with if using an sfd on a no pour such as a pasty plate or similar?
I know agar doesn't really need GE but since its a no pour they would get crushed in the pc unless there is some amount of GE.
How much is is necessary??

Hello shroomers -- 100% newbie, 1st-time grower here. I prepped & pressure-cooked BRF jars last night that it turns out I will not be using today or very soon, after all. I'm about to leave town & am wondering if there any storage steps I can take for reusing these unused, pressure-cooked, substrate-filled 1/2-pint jars in a couple of weeks? Specifically:
1. Can they be reused & inoculated in a couple of weeks? 2. Would storing them in a freezer, cabinet, etc., help with reusing them? 3. Should I put them through another round of pressure cooking or non-PC stovestop sterilization before reusing? 4. Would I be better off just writing them off, discarding substrate, and starting all over again when I'm again ready to inoculate?
And my last question: Is there a better place on shroomery to post this query?
Many thanks!

I personally often use this thread instead of making my own, just to be courteous, maybe you should consider doing the same.
Secondly, good questions that I don't have the answers too. Your jars are ready. You can't find the time to simply inoculate the jars (less than 20 minutes of work) so when you get back you'll have almost ready to fruit jars?

There are a ton of Q&A threads, here, and in other forums, like the noob forum, but being general discussion, Q&A is allowed.

Hope im not out of line but is there something with SAB use and distractions. Last few days been PCing stuff cause agar dish is going crazy. Put everything in the SAB. Planned for this arvo. Sprayed SAB and wandered around and chilled for a bit waiting for things to settle. Then thought now its cool. Closed door put gloves on started doing my shit. Then in the middle phone goes crazy. Ringing ringing, I ignore it. It rings again over and over. Thinking fuck it, i dont wanna re glove n sterilize everything again fuck it. These oysters are gonna be great. Finish what i have to do zening in the slow controled work. Then answer the phone 15min latter. Thinking gonna put it on silent next time. And the shit hits the fan fuckn dramas. I enjoy my SAB time.

Hi Moabfighter—I’m new to this style of forum, and I appreciate correction & advice about using it. About your suggestion: “I personally often use this thread instead of making my own, just to be courteous, maybe you should consider doing the same.”
Since I did use this thread instead of making my own, I don’t understand. Could you please clarify? If it’s better to start a new thread for questions like mine – and could possibly generate more response – that’s good info for me to know. Thanks from a noob.

1. Whut 2. Mushroom cultivation teaches patience and mindfulness, so yea it's pretty common that you're learning how fidgety/distracted you can be.
The mind has floating attention you have to learn to control

Freezing mycelium will kill it. If you have bugs you may as well just plan to start over until they're gone.

Apparently it makes it have a much lower yield for 2nd flush. Idk exactly how true it is, or if subsequent flushes are actually from spores, and not an excessive loss of moisture during first flush, but it does seem to have some merit and proof to back it up that the later flushes do suffer from a massive spore drop.
