Chemo and radiation are two very different things. I am not big on either, but I might consider radiation, I definitely wouldn't do chemo.
Falsereality- How much research have you done into reishi, curcumin and piperine, chagga and simpson oil/pheonix tears as cancer treatments?

Alternative treatments do, in fact, exist — the most promising among them for many cancers are various formulations of CBD oil, a cannabis derivative. But, thanks to the phenomenally failed war on drugs, cancer patients in most areas of the U.S. are unable to procure much needed medicine or are forced to receive treatment on the sly — risking time behind bars simply for wanting to cure themselves.

a .1% chance is still worse than a .2% but some people try to overcompensate for this and they end up giving themselves cancer with too much vitamin e, most of your organs take 7 years to regenerate themselves

i went through 4 rounds of chemo starting october of last year - january of this year.
cisplatin and etopiside. not gonna lie it sucks fucking ass, but is not the worst thing i have ever experienced. the shitty part is feeling like you have 0 immune system - like you can FEEL how vulnerable you are to shit. You gotta be on top of washing hands, not being around too many people, etc... its rough. I still have tinnitus, and aversions to certain smells i was exposed to during treatment.
I am looking forward to the advancement of CRISPR with regard to cancer treatments. If I ever have to do this shit again, (fingers crossed I dont), I will be opting for CRISPR treatment, over chemo/radiation.

Doctors fuck up and kill people constantly. I saw it happened first hand to a family member a couple years ago. You'll definitely want to opt out of any surgery that has "explorative" in the title.

When my grandmother got cancer my mom begged her not to get chemo.
My grandmother got angry "how can you say that this is my only chance !"
The chemo immediately crashed her system and she died rapidly and in grotesque misery.
Having witnessed it my mom swears she will never do chemo and that story made an impression on me.
I won't do it either. If I have to die of cancer so be it, I will not die from chemo.

my grandmother went through chemo 5 times, when she was diagnosed with cancer a 7th time she didnt do chemo, she was 92 when she was diagnosed and 93 when she died
5 rounds of chemo that didnt kill her, she died of old age
maybe those that die of chemo just were not meant for this world anymore

My grandfather died of prostate cancer and thanks to chemo his last days on Earth were miserable and unpleasant
Towards the end of it he couldn't eat anything, he said food just tasted like dirt, maybe cannabis wouldn't have cured him but maybe it would've gave him an appetite
But nope cannabis is illegal in my state and as a result of that injustice my grandfather suffered a lot more than he had to

Reading the responses is making me cry.
I am really sorry for everyone's loss. May the dead be at peace forever.
I don't agree with children having it since there is a chance they will die more easily.
Life is like a box of chocolates....fuck - ing - great.

So are you a doctor? Your post sounded like it to be true.
I've seen kids dying of chemo/cancer, unaware that it's terrible treatment, the parents also look sad but unaware. They just accept that it's the only way, there has to be other ways.

Occupational therapist. Parents aren't unaware that the treatment sucks, nor are the kids. The infants are. The kids are brave & wise beyond their years though. Their attitude & strength of character never ceases to amaze me. Cancer is a motherfucker, and hard as hell to treat. Radiation isn't better than chemo by the way. It has side effects & kills healthy tissue as well. There are many advances though. Proton therapy, targeted radiation, gene therapy, etc. new ways to kill the cancer with minimal collateral damage & decreased side effects.

I'm glad you help people. I wasn't aware that people would be willing to let themselves or children be put through it if they realized how bad it was.
I want more advances, cos considering how much money charities make each year, it should have been solved years ago. More funding to actual treatment instead of theories which don't leave the whiteboard, I say.

It's either do the treatment or die. That's the option. And finding a cure isn't as easy as people make it out to be. I have a friend that does cancer research, and it can start in so many different ways. That's what makes it so hard.

I think the following might be true.
If a patient has stage 4 cancer, the worst and last stage, then it seems justified to not undergo treatment which would be of no use. They should spend the time left trying to enjoy life rather than being in hospital.
If the cancer is small and not metastasized then treatment is a good options. The chance of recovering is higher.

That choice is up to the patient though. If they have stage 4 cancer & choose to undergo treatment, they are perfectly justified in doing so. And miracles do happen. If it was me I'd probably make my peace with it & try to enjoy what time I had left.
