Found in southern Mississippi in cow dung growing with Columbia cyanescens.
Stem is white with a little bit of brownish yellow. It is hollow with a dark purplish black ring(it fell off in the pic). It isn't really thick, but it isn't super skinny.
The cap is concave with a small nipple. is white around the edges with a slight incurve. It fades into a golden brown. Stains dark blueish black.
The gills are a dark Grey with white in the edge but became a blacker color in age. They are close near the edge but get more free towards the stem.
I don't have a spore print, sorry

Maybe. It definitely bears some resemblance to p cubensis.
But even with the pics zoomed in, it's hard to tell if the mushy ever had a veil. There appears to be blue bruising on the cap and stipe and the cap is similar to p cubensis.
Wait for a TI.
In the meantime, remove the stem from the cap and place the cap gills down on a sheet of paper or foil. Leave it for a few hours at least and then attach a photo of the spore deposit left on the sheet.

Oh, just re-read your post. If it had a dark ring on the stem and it fell off, yes, p cubensis.
Still wait for a TI to confirm before eating, though.
