Wild turd substrates in fc?
    #23629022 - 09/09/16 01:17 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Normally I have access to some fields and getting enough for me and my friends is never a problem but this year our area is classified as extreme drought. only seen one flush all season. Anyone got any ideas on how scooping up a turd (most definitely correct ones I assure you) dousing it with water and throwing it in my 99% humidity fc would go?

Why don't you just colonize some sterilized spawn and then some bulk sub, or even PF cakes?  I would never put a raw piece of shit in my FC.  Ever.

Why? I could, but that takes time and going to another state for spores. If it contaminates (I heard manure is resistant I've only seen a few species in it) I can just sterilize and try again. Plus if it worked I'd have cubes and pan cyans in there

Personally, if you have trouble obtaining spores in your state, you could always go mushroom hunting, and if you're good at id'ing cubensis, pick some and then take them home and make some spore prints with them.  Then use those spores prints to put to agar, clean then up and grow out, then tiger drop them into grain.  Once you get a clean grain master, you can expand it with g2g processes.  You could literally expand 1 jar to 10 in a matter of weeks, and also expand from that point as well if you choose.

Colonizing and fruiting does take time, but the pay off is definitely worth it.  All the information you need for home cultivation is here, I suggest reading up and using that information to start your own personal grow.  Once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty easy, as anything becomes with experience.  It is also a rewarding hobby, aside from getting loads of active mushrooms, it's actually really fun.

Thanks man, next time conditions are right I may do this, hopefully conditions are good enough that I won't have to (pick enough to last) . I've done pf jars a few times but I work/go to school 14 hours a day and it's not as rewarding (personally not yield) when I only have enough time to half ass it. I'm not sure if I could learn something new and do it well with about an hour of free time a day. I'll probably still do it seeing as how picking up some turds is too easy for me to not give it a shot. Plus there's still no forecast for rain anytime soon. I'll post if it goes well or terribly.

For somebody that isn't home often, when you go to fruit, use a monotub.  If you dial your monotub in properly, you can literally leave it be on the first flush and a good tub will net you 6-8 dry Ounces.  You won't have to mist or fan or anything, just a day/night lighting cycle, and possibly run a fan in the room pointing away from it.

Perfect for workaholics, students, or people that are just plain lazy.

Welcome to the Shroomery dude

The biggest trip of my life was realizing all of the events and actions described in posts made by this account were never real and had never actually happened, but were instead the delusional ramblings of a severely mentally ill human being. I just had to move on for my own good. I love you all.

I recently printed a fruit off a cow patty in a gallon ziplock,
air exchanged every few days produced a few fruits within a week or so

I see these turds every day, I know which areas have cubes and nearly every turd on the farm has pan cyans on it. I'm going to try it in hopes of getting a good print of either or grab some when wild ones fruit
