wooden terrarium (?)
    #2362883 - 02/21/04 09:41 AM (14 years, 3 months ago)

First of all a big hello to everyone over here at the shroomery!

I have an old pair of wooden speakers(25"x16)and was wondering if i could turn one into a terrarium. i can lift of one side to give me access to the inside and it form a very tight seal when shut. I was thinking of just coating the inside with like 5 layers of duct tape and perlite in a tin at the bottom. Any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated,
phishphan :bong:

p.s. i have utfse and didnt find anything.

most speakerboxes made since the 60s are made from particle board, it breaks down very quickly with humidity... you can ger a $3 tub from walmart or someplace that will last for years

Yes i know it is very easy to buy just a tupperware container but i was just wonderind if i covered the inside with duct tape wouldnt that keep the humidity from breaking down the wood? just a thought. i could also put some kind of plastic under a layer of duct tape. this is sort of just something neat i want to do.
peace, phishphan :bong:

no... it will slow the proscess but it wont stop it... you could be spending 10x as much to remedy something as opposed to going a smarted route the first time... believe me...rigging it can be pricey

I suppose your right prisoner, but it was sort of a "covert sort of thing" (no im not living with my parents). I guess ill just have to find some other unique way for a covert grow op.

use a tub and place it in your colset... a few LEDs for light and some old laundry on top... you have just become a lazy pig... covert grows are usualy more time consuming and costly than anything else, I suggest Mycobags.. then the speaker idea is a pretty good one

Line the wood with plastic and add some humidifiers and boom.

or find a plastic container that fits inside the old speaker box? that could be cheaper and easier (assuming there are a few shops close by) than lining it with plastic...
