Yeah a lot of it is outdated and only useful for knowledge of cultivation theory, but that contam guide is pure gold. I've got PDFs of TMC and GGMM on my phone for quick reference.

Let it grow! Let it grow! Greatly yield! What shall we say, shall we call it by a name As well to count the angels dancing on a pin Water bright as the sky from which it came And the name is on the earth that takes it in DOG FOOD AGAR MY ELECTRIC INOCULATION LOOP

Thanks everyone... it might have been from the syringe from the person who made it. This is my first time growing shroooms. I have harvested 22g dry and seen some weirdos in there. There was one harelip, some holes in the caps, stems that were open. I have not seen the brown lines, maybe a way fainter smaller version. Never anything like that weird shaped abort I picked, which was an invitro pin and shaped like that in the jar. Never seen splitting until last night when I picked those and while trying to pick verm off them noticed that the surface looked like it was beginning to separate to split...
Agar is in my near future. Should I try to clone these sick shrooms? I did get 4 spore prints from some nice shrooms with no sign of this contam. So will I be able to sort myc from contam in the agar? Y'all ever seen what color it is?

blindingleaf said: here is a good pic of a hidden contam. its verticillium fungicola and its a white mold. it was a nuisance to me for many months. found out it was riding on the myc, but would not show itself until a week+ after full colonization of plate. top left is vert only top right is vert + cube mycelium after plate consolidated for a week or two bottom plate is healthy cube mycelium after 2 week consolidation.

note the intertwined plate has a 3d fuzz look to it. starts in the middle, and works its way out

And bacteria is pretty obvious to spot.

My shrooms smell faintly like some old roses that should have been thrown out yesterday... is this the contam too? I am not experienced with the smell of shrooms.

Both, and it spreads easy.
Vert isn't even known as vert anymore by the way. It's lecanicillium
The last post I made in this thread with the pictures. None of those had vert spores or hyphae under microscopy only psedo
Pseudo fruits are usually wet. Pseudo fruits should be pretty dry
