Up in that forum anytime someone talks about microwaving it becomes a shit show, She had posted a tek on microwaving and it turned into a brawl until the tek got locked and a mod pulled her tag, she claims she was set up and baited into losing it It is such a passionate subject up there, and then you here about a ton of labs like MyColorado worked in that consistently use microwaves. The Mush Cult forum is a strange place sometimes.

And just to clarify...I mean microwave to melt if you have a surplus and it's set up...after it's been properly PC'd or autoclaved.
All that shit about losing a TC tag over something like that is a joke. People need to get a fucking life. I've posted some things on here based on my experience and people have claimed they're impossible. If they happen to be a TC or have "clout" on here, all the sheeple will start chiming in, in agreement. Absolutely doesn't make them correct. Kind of funny when all they have to do is start experimenting to find the truth yet they'd rather sling shit.

Sweet, thanks for the replies friends~ The devil really is in the detail with mycology, part of what makes it fun.
You may be on to something with the scalpel... I didn't PC mine, just a quick alcohol wipe down. I'll stick it in the PC next round, there's room so it wouldn't hurt.
I think it would be wise to test my flow hood as well. I will keep the microwave in mind should I need it. My handwork and order of operations get screwed up sometimes but you're all right... Practice~
Thanks again, the feedback is so helpful.

Wow that's just crazy. The first time I did agar tried no pour. Thought it was good but my slants were mushy. Then I was reading to cook first. That's when I started using the microwave. Just put in qt jar and heated a few times mixing in between. Let it solidify and put filter lid on and pc. No more problems.i keep extra for later pours and heat a little in microwave.
