Uh you could have posted that in the last thread you made. Both this and the mushroom in the thread you posted are bruising, and are doing fine so far.

Well thanks for the response anyway. I had problems with mold earlier so I was very worried.

I understand . You have to understand that molds attack because the mycelium was weak. If it's strong it'll never let any molds germinate, no matter how spore ridden your home is. Yours contaminated from what? Idk. Could be bacteria. Could be a white mold. Could be from not misting enough, which it seems you've not been doing enough. The cake isn't glistening with moisture, and often bruises if it isn't getting enough moisture.
If you can do those things right, you could have this in your basement for half a year at least, with the furnace kicking on all the time:
 And still grow these:

I lost what wasn't covered in foil. Luckily i did 50/50 so 3 of my covered jars were okay. Slow, but okay.

How did that contaminated batch still pull through? You said if one can do these things right.. Would you mind explaining what would cause that batch to flourish rather than give up? I'm having a bit of trouble with a contam'd batch right now that's fruiting in the midst of the mold but is only producing very sparse and small mushies, and I'm curious as to why.

I'm so under qualified to answer your question that I wasn't going to respond but the only answer I have is that it was already 80% colonized, then I put it outside and let nature do its thing, and got lucky

If you're talking about Mad's pictures I think he was just meaning that you could have flushes like all of the below pictures EVEN if you have a tub which looks like the above picture sitting around in your fruiting area.
So main idea is: What's important is not the sterility of the fruiting environment, but the quality of clean spawn you have. Clean spawn will fight any contaminant successfully.
