When you eat alot of fat and sugar together your body will burn the sugar and store the fat. Simple carbs. are burned more easily by the body. This is a fact. Eat alot of fat and very low carbs, you force your body to burn fat. You put it in a fat burning mode.
EVERYTHING is stored as fat. The lipids you eat of course are re-synthesized into tryglicerides in the endoplasmic reticulum of your enterocyte cells.
Sugars are ALSO stored as fat once they've undergone glycolisis to form the 6-monophosphate pyruvates they can undergo an active chemical pathway to convert them into lipids as well.
Eating low carbs forces your body to burn the fats you're consuming from the atkins diet, not the fats that are still stored inside of you. And it takes a whole lot of energy, effort, and resources to convert that fat back into sugars for your body to use. Your brain runs solely on glucose. Keep that in mind.

that is what makes it good aswell. more energy it takes teh more fat it uses, the more fat it uses teh less is stored. and it does maintain proper glucose levels in the people i have seen. if yoru brain is short on glucose u will know it. (grumpyness ,irratibility, vertigo) then u should probably eat a few mroe carbs. also eating to many carbs can cause the same low glucose levels. it creates sharp glucose peaks and valleys. depends on personal insuline levels .
so everyone needs to take things with a grain of salt. everyones body is differnt. so even if your prof says its bad doesnt make it true. and dr. atkin saying its good does nto make it true either. people need to relize humans vary greatly and do not fit into neat boxes. although that is easier for the masses to understand it comes at the cost of teh majoritys well being.
