Palnts and cubes that thrive together?

I've been learning about how mushrooms interact with plants in thier habitat.
Binding with the roots of plants to gain nutrients and also providing sugar to the plant.
I know libs like certain grass roots.
What about cubes? I have a variety of house plants and I am thinking of putting some of the baby thai cube cakes I've just made in the pots.
I'd be interested in getting plants that have a mutually beneficial relationship with cubes too.
One plant pot on the coolest window ledge I am dumping my rotten libs in, and saying a little prayer.

I've noticed also that burying spent and/or contaminated cakes into houseplants or the garden benefits the plants. They always green up and look much better a month or two later. RR
I throw my triched out cakes outside in a plant pot and mix it with compost, no real plants but I've heard this way there is a chance for a second life. Never has happened to me before so go figure

The soil is 50/50 soil from the ground I dug up, and mushroom substrate left out for a year to compost. I'd say it's pretty good for plants.

Thanks folks. Maybe I would keep needing to add to the soil to keep it rich enough? Cubes grow on dung normally?

Dig a hole around the plants, break up the cakes and dump them in there
I wonder if I should be doing this with my peyote.....

Being a cultivator of both cannabis for a while and shrooms as of recently- I have to say I would love to find a way to have cubes and plants growing together. Living soil would be the first step I beleive?
I know a few organic growers using a living compost mix who frequently find mushrooms in their mix. Cubes are different though.
Someone enlighten me.

It seems like OP is talking about a mycorrhizal symbiosis, which afaik no psilocybes do. Chanterelles, porcini, and amanitas are well known mycorrhizal mushrooms. That said, cubes are primary decomposers and spent mushroom substrate makes a great soil additive. I've wanted to fruit mushrooms in a greenhouse with plants for a while too, because the mushrooms put off CO2 which helps the plants grow.
Now that I have a big yard I'm going to start composting my spent/contaminated mushroom substrates, and I hope I'll get some nice plants and maybe even some surprise mushrooms.

We use a huge bag of mycellium on woodchips for our 4x4 space for co2. It works amazingly.

Cool. You could use oysters for that and grow a lot of tasty food. My vision was a greenhouse with shelves along the sides for mushroom substrate blocks and plants on the floor in the middle. Sadly I only moved into this place a month ago and my vision is far from becoming reality.

If you're gonna start growing edibles then I would highly recommend starting with oysters. They're super easy to grow on straw, wood shavings, newspapers, you name it. The mycelium is super aggressive and you generally don't have to worry about contams. Just pasteurize some straw in a laundry bag and spawn it in any kind of plastic bag. You can even use shopping bags. If you're proficient with agar I've got some good edible cultures to trade.

I've got nada to trade, but thank you very much for the information! I'm gonna go order some right now actually! Winter's coming and not being able to forage will have me too antsy. Enjoy your cultivation

For cold weather go with blue oyster. Sporeworks sells a really good culture, and blue oysters love cold temps

Yes OP did mean that but cubes don't interact with plant roots like that.
Need to find out what living compost is. Do I need worms in my plant pots? Sounds like a plan.
The dream would be a little self supporting ecosystem in a pot.
