Anybody feel like weighing in?

Peres growing fur depending on their temperature/climate
:nonono:

may I present, the pereskiopsis I received from ND, grown literally right next to the same peres I've been collecting, the skinny bit is new growth that incurred in my climate
Pereskiopsis deguetii

long fur, very few spines/glochids
Pereskiopsis spathulata
little to no fur, long angry spines/glochids

Basically what I'm saying is that the top two plants
are a different species from the bottom plants

and that no amount of environmental factors will ever make them look like the same plant.

Maybe not different species, but definitely different clones. Letting both types grow till they flower on the exact same setting would settle that. Environmental conditions make up for a huge difference in habit for Pereskiopsis, as well as time of the year.

In any case, the difference in "fur" presence and length in both types is pretty consistent across various growth settings.
