So with the pasty plates do i need to wrap them with something after inoculation or are they fine just to sit on my shelf as is.

Well the tek doesn't call for it .... the lids almost snap on so you're good the reason we wrap petris is because they are so loose and is easier to move them around with a safety wrap

Pics would help if it was an MS syringe it will be tomatose or however you spell it which is a fuzzy growth after a few transfers it will go a bit rhizo if you have lower nutes... I can't remember it's been awhile since I made mine with more nutes if it keeps getting tomatose ?? And as far as you touching it I've seen bacteria show up a week later why did you touch it? Do you have a sab or flow hood ?

I followed the tek really well but im concerned about the karo i used because it was dark. I bought light karo for my next batch. Also im learned about the pressure build up in my pc i think i have one of those loud ones lol cause i cant get a steady rock on my regulater

I've never seen people put plates upside down I assume it's for the condensation ? I'd take the paper towels off and put them upright but if it's been working for you stick with it.... what kind of PC? I heard one brand I forget what kind releases pressure every few minutes or so it doesn't rock I have a presto which is pretty easy to keep at 14psi

I have a mirro 23 qt but yeah the upside down part is for condensation i read that it would help that pic was taken 3 days ago i think on most i have the tiny white fuzz right where the drop went. I have tossed 2 i think because it was an obvious black mold in them of some sort. Btw iv never grown from agar those are my first ever agar plates. I have 2 PF tek grows under my belt and that is all so far.

So the paper towels can come off.. As for the upside down part i was concerned about the condensation causing contam issues like iv read about but if i can keep them up right it will be easier to store and make more.

Ya I think it is the mirro that does the weird release thing ... here is a tomatose that had bacteria but see the fuzzy .. here is a rhizo... as long as you put micro pore tape you'll be good I don't even use the paper towels just foil but it helps with condensation ..

Ya that's how all MS start I believe, and this site is pretty badass... and agar is pretty much how I started I tried one syringe inoculation and said Fuck that plus I've only used like .5 cc off my syringes and have had maybe 500 jars ... it can be overwhelming having so many but does keep you busy
