Just signed up, few words about me. Wrong side of 50, more hair than teeth, first tripped 35 years ago, long hiatus since. Renewed interest after reading recent stuff re PTSD, depression, neural regeneration. Always regarded mind-altering substances as sacrament, tools of learning, and my friends. Understand now why our 'masters' seek to deny us these things. Bad depression between 5 and 10 years ago, took SSRI's at the insistence of GP. Now seeking to repair damage to brain caused by these. I'm here to learn and share. I have a core belief, that Humans became Humans by co-operation, not conflict. All the war and misery makes us less Human, and I think we need a major purge of psychopaths, they have been culling us via war for too long now. I'm Atheist, but I try to look up, not down, if you know what I mean. I am VERY forthright in my views, so if you don't want your feelings hurt, don't ask. Finally, thanks to 'Asanti' for the welcome, and thanks to site owners, mods, etc, for making it possible for me to say this here.

Thanks for the welcome. Sadly, I don't actually have that much hair. I envy Shane McGowan. I'm not confused about my gender, though.

Heya FBM! Great intro man, thank you. Glad to have you here. From the dialect you use sounds like you're from the UK?
I'd encourage you, once you've got your post count up, to check out any of the subforums that look like they might interest you. I spent my first few years here barely venturing out of PS&P, but there's such an incredible wealth of knowledge in the community when you go looking in all the different rooms.
Have fun, and shout if I can help anyhow!

Thanks mate. You're right, I'm on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Just been having a look round the site, it's HUGE! Found the 'UK 2016 season' thread, that was what I came looking for. Been going out for a few weeks now, only found 1 or 2 here and there so far, was starting to worry. Already learned so far to look higher up early, I thought it would be earlier lower down. Few weeks to the next full moon though, eh?

Hi BB, your av reminded me of an old mate from Rotherham who had that model and colour of camper. He moved to the Outer Hebrides to give his kids a chance. The van was parked up round the back, and looked a bit like the one in your av, before being scrapped. Thing is, the poster above you has a tag-line 'papa smurf', which is what my friend is known as locally. Please excuse my obsession with tiny coincidences.

Hi SSE, I usually produce the 'trans-atlantic cable', I asses my health by the height of the 'toilet totem'. Either that, or the 'crappoccino', if I have too much mucky beer.

Hi Le_Canard, thanks for welcome. All this talk of farting and stool quality, seems to be turning into a scat-fest already.

Welcome! Fuck psychopaths and SSRIs. Good for you for telling it like it is. I do the same, which has earned me my 1-shroom rating. People can't handle the truth. The shroomery is a drug in its own right; it's highly addictive and you'll think you're hallucinating when you read some of the bullshit that gets spewed on here. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Alyssa, thanks. I only found this place because I've been out a-hunting for a few weeks, and only found ones and twos. Have read some of the '2016 UK season' thread, and am reassured to just be patient.

Hi Thayendanegea, thanks for welcome. Nice track you posted, not heard that one. Here's the original
Man I love that southern shit-kicking music But I took the name from this
It's from my childhood, my Pa's side of the family were of the traveling persuasion.
Edit- spelled your name wrong.

It's a great obsession IMO. The little synchronicities that occur more frequently as one opens up to the full spectrum of life keep me on the path of further opening.
Hella.

Could be a good few weeks yet, though I feel based on the near continual rainfall the last 12+ months that this year should be a bountiful one in terms of harvest.
Loving the Dubliners and Shane reference in a single thread! Just gotta wait for those 'cold and misty mornings' for the hunt to prove fruitful, though perhaps slightly further afield from the Albert Bridge.
Welcome, sir, have a good look around the site, plenty of UK members, nothing against our international brothers and sisters of course!
The Uk harvest threads will be abuzz with activity as soon as things kick off properly so just keep your eyes peeled on the appropriate threads/forums and I am sure you will enjoy a bountiful year.
Welcome aboard, 99% of the people here are very cool and a great deal of knowledge to be gained and shared, let us know how the hunting goes! Make sure to check the forum rules etc though, no specific locations allowed, though you can be fairly creative with how specific you may accidentally get...

Seriously though, there's masses of information here about many other things I find fascinating. Propagating Boletus Edulis for instance. A friend of mine has kilos on kilos, dried and maturing, year on year. The oldest smells like dark chocolate. And the duck and mushroom soup it makes is to die for.
Edit Well, the quote worked, but the 'shocked face' failed miserably

The selection of smileys/emoticons or whatever da yoof are calling them at the moment is overwhelming, you will soon learn a few go to favourites and be adding animated punctuation with abandon!
