my first attempt at BRF cakes
    #23622488 - 09/07/16 03:55 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Hello everyone! Its been two weeks since I inoculated some cakes. a couple dont have any growth but most have some. My friend in RL said that they looked ok. I wasnt sure tho since its my first time ever attempting growing and i had a lil mistake during the inoculation process where the holes i poked werent big enough so I had to try and make them bigger after PCing.

heres some pics of the cakes that have growth on them. Two weeks in. sorry for quality it was the best i could do at the moment :/

They look pretty good.

Messing with holes after PCing is not a good idea, but doing pf tek, your jars have a layer of verm for extra protection which I think prevented contams reaching the substrate when you messed with the holes. Try handling jars carefully so you won't break the verm barrier and let the contams in.

thanks for the respond yeah I was really skeptical on how they will do cause of that error. In the past two weeks ive checked on them only twice like once every 6 days to reduce the contact. Thanks for your reply! Much love! :mushroom2:
