The more I hear about the success of oats, the more inclined I am to try them out. I hear good things all the time.
I will have a shit ton of oats by tomorrow afternoon. Guess my PC is about to get some near constant love tomorrow night. She likes having her shit packed.

I got ya. I intend on prepping about 10 mycological qts for right now. I have 3 variants I'll be working with, is I'm going to do 3 jars apiece, with a 1:2 ratio bulk sub. Should be plenty for each mono.
The last jar I'm not sure what I'll do with yet. Maybe I'll try my hand at starting a small outdoor patch or something. Dunno.

I think I'm set for awhile. Got the race horse oats, 50lbs for 9 bucks. Hellllll yeah.

Also, I had some extra cash this week. Soooo... I decided to get some other supplies. Maybe I went overboard just a little...

And an extra one of these

That's due next week.
Also ordered 4 ounces of MEA. That's what a lot of these smaller containers are meant for, sterilizing agar.
Can't fuckin wait. By this time next week I should have pleeeeeeenty of spawn colonizing

Went ahead and started prepping some oats in the exact way outlined in Inocuoles tek. I estimate that there is probably 4-5 quarts worth soaking in my pressure cooker.
I am periodically checking them to see if the middle is grey, it's at about hour 4 of the soak, and the tek calls for 6 hours minimum.
I am going to work in pasty plates into this project as well, I have 6 round snall tupperwares which would be perfect for this.
I am however interested in making an LI with one of these containers by putting a little pour spout on it for super fast colonization. Does anybody have any experience with blender less LI with colonized agar and can maybe point me in the right direction?

I found Munchausenz Blenderless LI tek, so I'm going to be using this in conjunction with pasty plates on at least one or two of my cultures.

Ideally, I'd like to get several quarts colonized as quickly as possible so I can get some bulk subs colonized, because I have nothing in my FCs atm
