Looking sexy so far, nothing nasty yet.
One tub is lagging behind a bit.

The tub that only got one quart of reishi looks great but a bit sparser by comparison.

Here are a few:

Edit: I'd also like to say that the pine tubs looks slightly more filled out but I think that's because the pine sawdust turned out wetter after bucket-teking it.

Wow this stuff is fast.
Probably just as fast as oysters to be honest.

All of the tubs now look like this except for the one that got 1:3 spawn:sub:

1:3 tub:

This one is almost ready to fruit:

They have a very faint pleasant smell, like pinesol and mushrooms.

Just to clarify, one of those tubs is fir, the other is pine. Very little difference in growth at this point.

Interesting. I'll be running side by side oak and pine here shortly. Will try tubs soon too.

Just noticed something...

I peeled back the liner on a few of the subs out of curiosity:
They're only colonized 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down, I think i didn't mix the spawn in deep enough.
I really should have mixed the sub/spawn outside of the tubs then dumped it in.
It should be fine though, considering how fast they're colonizing.

Some tubs have developed a teeny tiny bit of metabolites on the surface. Like a pinhead sized drop here or there.

Example:

Ignore the dark chunk and white chunk in the uncolonized area, that's a bit of cardboard and a chunk of gypsum.

It looks like I missed the middle of the edges on most of the tubs I mixed up.

Thoughts?

I've noticed metabolites are a calling card of reishi

They should go ahead and colonize yet. Thinking it would make a better pin set with all the sub colonized.More energy? Guess time will tell. Used layers in the tub I made so they colonized all at once.

Hey Quad, how well do these conk in a tub? I'm about to start some up in bags on supplemented sawdust and was planning on letting them form antlers in the bags and then cut the bags open to make conks, I was thinking if they conk well in tubs I may just put all of the bags in tubs when it's time to conk, use monotubs with polyfil to dial in FAE, my fruiting room will be full and I would still like to get a maximum yield from these. What do you think?

FYI Pastywhyte said the fruits will grow right through poly or micropore and become ingrained in the fruit and impossible to separate.

I was going to use poly with this grow until he told me this. Now I'm just going to keep the bottom holes taped.

Did he happen to say anything about conking and FAE in the tubs?

I think he cracked the lid open on his old reishi growlog after a while but they never conked.
Lipa made a post on that thread with absolutely beautiful full conks, but they were growing from bags outdoors.
