Did an advanced search, nothing within 2 years.
Something under $50. Any recommendations?

I got this the other day -
Didn't really have a butane torch but wanted one. Could have gotten a nicer standard r* shape torch used for soldering but opted for this sexy bad boy instead.

4 bucks out the door, it's actually pretty handy but still hilarious at the same time. Got it at the hardware store so its quality is going to beat most torches in that price line, especially the cheap generic ones found at gas stations & convenient stores. Not so much portable but somewhat inconspicuous for what it's worth. I'll use it for other things where the reach will be useful so I am glad to have it.

does it have to be portable? I have one the size of a semi truck and you could put wheels on it and make it portable

IM Corona Old Boy. theyre built like tanks. light everytime. you'll be able to pass it on to your kids.
Its not below $50, but its worth the extra. There really arent any "best" or even "good" lighters below $50. you should either stick with disposables or get a quality brand that is easy to get fixed like im corona, ST Dupont, Dunhill, etc. These lighters also hold their value if you want to sell it in the future.
ive had Xikars and Coibris which seem nice but they inevitably break and getting them repaired is a pain and costs almight as much as just buying another one, and they dont hold their value.

Looks like a good brand, Gresh, wish they had the jet torch flame. I want something to replace the 2-3 floating lighters I have to keep track of.
Looked on a few survivalist, men's 'gear' articles and forums but thought I'd run it by the Shroomery and see what you all could suggest. Also, cross-reference see what showed up twice. Forgot the pub is mainly amateur comedy hour. Perhaps a better sub-forum, if someone could suggest one?

IM corona has a jet lighter
Prometheus makes some awesome jet lighters as well, but most of them are fairly large
If your looking for a good forum to get more opinions, reddit r/cigars is a good place

Before reading your post, I was just thinking to myself that the r/ community might be a more constructive avenue.

Get a "scorchtorch" triple. That'll be all you need.
