Me & some friends were talking about it last night and it motivated me to go to one. Apparently there's a few of em in CT. I'm gonna have to do it sometime soon, probably eat some L before to ramp things up a notch too.
If you've ever been in a sensory deprivation tank post ur experience in this thread

Yeah I've done it once. It was a one hour session.
It wasnt earth shattering since it was my first time. I was a little overwhelmed. Its definitely super relaxing. I could see benefits if you were able to do it routinely.
I would recommend it man, give it a shot. Taking some LSD before hand would really add to the experience, definitely do that if you can.

Nice one Sheeks, let us know how it went!
I've never been in one. Anyone got ideas for a low-budget version?

I did it and was mostly disappointed. It was what you'd expect: laying in a pool of water in the dark for an hour.
It was relaxing, but nothing spectacular. Maybe if I kept going back for $60 sessions it would be completely earth shattering after I dropped a few grand

I've got few hundred floats under the belt. My housemate builds vertical float tanks and has floated more than any human living or dead. OG
My good friend did a 24 hour long float at our place:

Pee bucket outside tank. Fasted for most of it, I brought her a vege juice halfway through and she drank it while in the tank.
We've discovered 16 hours is about the hour of diminishing return, where it's better to go take care of body stuff than sit it out any longer.

I do it about once a week. My best results come with focused breath practice. I can usually get my brain into theta wave in around 10-15 minutes, this gives me a feeling of standing up and moving forward through space. I usually have projected images in my minds eye, for me it depends on how relaxed I can get. I lose my body right away, but the brain can be a bit more difficult. I don't do caffeine that day and I always eat something modest about 45- 60 minutes before, if your stomach is digesting or making noise it is very distracting. Some of the best sleep I have ever had has been after floats.
