Your two photos of them in the grass show that they have brown spores, you can see the spores on the tops of the caps

Look at Agrocybe, there are many species.

Thank you very much. Im getting mixed results from my searches over the internet cant really clarify if they are edible or pousinous... my spore print will be a day or two & they are currently not bruising blue. Worthy for the trash bin?

Not really of any value, some are "edible" and some are not.  I'd toss em.

Glad you are following through on the spore print and waiting for it to dry - that is the correct way to determine true coloring.  In this case, you can clearly see that the spores are brown from the deposits on the caps in your photos

Why not start your own thread?

There are two different species in your photographs. If possible, please create a spore print from each of the different species and include it in your post.

Yeah sorry hodor:smirk:I don't really know how these "threads" work haha but I'll work on it.
yes the first one I just saw looked a lot like the Fly Agaric but I wasn't sure so I left it (just wanted to know if I guessed right). The second species I do have so I'll work on the print. If you have even the faintest idea of what it is please share your guesses.
I'll post pictures of the spores as soon as I have them!

1. Amanita, one of the red staining "Blushers", something like A. rubescens, but might be a related species in South Africa.
2. Gymnopilus, potentially undescribed.

No worries! Next time, from here you can click on Post (The link is above the forum, specifically almost directly above the "Poster" and "Views" columns), to start a new thread.

Also, to create a spore print, remove the cap from the stem and place it gills down on paper or foil and leave it for a few hours at least. Then, remove the cap from the paper or foil and photograph it.

A spore print is likely unnecessary in this case since Byrain has already provided an identification, but it is always nice to have more information! :super:
