Planning my next trip - mountainous Forrest, at night

So last weekend I was in my truck exploring some local 4x4 trails in the mountains (Colorado) and I came across several sweep camping spots.
Hills within the mountains that require a 4x4 to access and flatten out at the top, making for a pretty sweet camping spot. They're established so others have already taken to the task of building fire pits in the center. Some hills are completely surrounded by the mountains, others are surrounded but the city lights can be seen in the distance.
I thought "Wow, this would be a pretty neat place to trip under the stars and talk with God". (I use sh rooms as a spiritual tool).
I love astronomy (and astrophysics in general) but in the city I can only see the brightest stars and the planets. Get away from that light pollution and it's kind of like opening your 3rd eye for the first time
So that's my plan this weekend. I'll load up my truck with fire wood, lots of blankets and my hammock. The plan is to leave the house after work and head for one of these spots with my folding hammock, lots of blankets, some food/water and my headphones.
Plan is to dose 4-5g right around or before sunset and trip under a clear night sky with all of creation above me. Just me, by myself.
This will be my first trip outside of the house; normally I do my tripping at home in my "tardis" so this will be my first trip in nature.
If all goes to plan, I should have a sweet trip report to post next week.
Who's done this?

I've wanted to do this and have thought about it recently. I too live in Colorado and am interested in getting away from the city lights for a night to gaze at the stars.
Sounds wonderful OP, have fun and be safe!

So, update!
Trip didn't happen this past weekend
Weather didn't cooperate on Friday, it was cloudy cold and windy. Saturday was supposed to be clear though.
Saturday day was clear and warm - boded well for that evening.
Unfortunately, we got off to a pretty late start and didn't leave for the mountains until Midnight. Got lost a few times and it took 2 hours to find 'the spot' instead of the usual hour.
By this point though we were feeling pretty tired and the sky was clear but the wind was breezy. I thought to myself "Uhh, I don't know (this setting) - being in my truck with the wind howling could turn this scary".
So I asked my wife if she was OK with sleeping in the truck all night or wanted to head in. So was already under her blanket with a pillow.
We made our way down down the mountain and through the trails until we hit the main dirt (mountain) road. Got back to the house an hour later.
On the way down, I wasn't really thinking about my disappointment in not getting to trip that weekend. Instead, I was enjoying a different experience.
Time with the love of my life, good music, the mountains and the night sky. Just us, driving down the road.
It's kind of funny just how dark it gets when you're away from the city. I mean, turn off your head lights and everything in front of you just goes to BLACK dark. Was kind of cool actually
So, planning on a trip this weekend but at home.
