Actually I stated that people should not use religion as the basis for devising laws, or forcing people to behave in a certain way. If you do, you're no better than those Muslims that you claim are so bad for society... I mean technically you guys believe in the same god. You two should embrace each other.

That's quite a stretch, Armstrong. Who said anything about "forcing people to behave in a certain way"?

You're doing an awesome job ripping apart this ridiculous thread. I believe in God but it's obvious that the Bible (including the Tanakh, I'm Jewish) contains a lot of bullshit mixed in with genuine history and poetic praise to God. It's been perverted by patriarchs whose interest has always been to maintain the male dominator culture. No religion should be used as a basis for civil law, it's people's right to not believe in it. Law needs to be based on a universal code of ethics. We have separation of church and state so that we don't end up like some third-world country, only backwards nations codify religion.

This notion that people are "forced" to believe or follow anything is another figment of your admittedly wild imagination.
We are Blessed by our Creator with free will and the ability to exercise it. That doesn't mean there isn't one correct path to take in life.
In fact, it is antithetical to the concept of logic to assume that "all paths are true".

You're the one talking about infringing on people's sexual rights and brought up religious scripture as a reason for doing so. I'm calling shenanigans.

No, you only want to make it so that we can't live our lives in a way that goes against the supposed word of god. Making homosexual relations illegal, making IVF illegal, outlawing abortion and birth control, these are just some of the things that religious people are petitioning for.

And even if you don't want to make these things illegal, at best you want to make life hard for these people by humiliating or deriding them. And that's the best-case scenario.

Naw, you're just projecting the desires of certain tyrannically-minded Christians onto us as if we're a collective and not a group made up of individuals with differences. I don't advocate tyranny. And as for abortion, well it is basically just infanticide (or fetusicide, if you will). You would just be murdering an undeveloped human being, essentially. I may not agree with it morally, but I could let it slide legally, depending on the the circumstances of the abortion and how far along the pregnancy is. Oh and that thing about "humiliating and deriding" people... you're talking to a follower of perhaps the most persecuted man to ever walk the earth.

I'm pretty sure you're just saying all this shit to piss off people like me. Whether or not you're genuine, you're reinforcing a very negative stereotype of Christians. I think some Christians are completely reasonable; posts like yours don't help them to be recognized as such. You're not doing your people any favors by being such a dickhead.

Alyssa, you posted a 5,000 word rant about some feminist heretic Messiah in a spaceship. Your opinion is not only meaningless, but is also insincere along with everything else you've ever posted.
I have asked you multiple times to stop trolling my thread.

By all means do continue; I would be overjoyed to see you banned once more after I report you again.

The clergy and the faith are not the same entity, though I understand your personal bias against both.

Trolling your troll thread? I'm entitled to my opinion; you can't get me banned for expressing myself in your thread, especially considering that its only purpose is to piss people off.

You can be banned for continual off-topic disruption and flaming, of which you have gratuitously participated in both.
I am lenient and so at this point I'm not inclined to blow the whistle, but do watch yourself.

Mods, feel free to assess my posts in this thread for possible violations of the rules. If I get banned for pointing out what an offensive thread this is, the shroomery has really gone to hell and it's not worth my time to be posting here anyway.
