I was a Bible skeptic for the majority of my life so far. I'm just glad it didn't take me my whole life to accept The Word of God like some people. Deathbed conversions are pretty common.

Uh-huh, and what compelling "evidence" inclined you to accept the word of the bible as real?

If you have to ask, you won't "get it".

I have to ask, because there is no compelling evidence. And there is most definitely NOT enough evidence to base our laws or society based on the standards within such a book.

The United States of America was founded on Christian morals and values. It's the bedrock of our founding documents and legislative and judicial ethos. Are you one of those people who wants to take God out of the pledge of allegiance and remove the 10 Commandments from court houses and shit like that?

Meanwhile Crystal G is probably combing through all her sources trying to compile some "proof" that Thomas Jefferson was an atheist or something.

The "evidence" is present throughout the scripture, the Divine Word of God which was sent directly to his prophets. The scripture confirms the existence of the Most Heavenly Father Who Art in Heaven and it instructs us, his mortal creations, how to live. See the Word for evidence of its veracity:
1 Corinthians 8:6 - For us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
2 Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
2 Peter 1:20 - First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation
John 17:17 - Sanctify them in the truth; thy word is truth.
Of course, those sinner skeptics who believe themselves beyond redemption will listen to no amount of reason. The evidence is placed right before them and continually they avert their gaze.
God is kind and just; your sins will be forgiven through the Almighty Blood of the Lamb Who Did Die Upon The Cross, God's Sacrifice to Save Humanity From the Wages of its Sin.
@PZ Thanks for the support, brother.

They actually fought to be free from British tyranny and rule, and one of the things they fought against was a mandated religion. Their political beliefs are antagonistic to the idea of America being a Christian-nation.
The text of the Constitution actually never states that this is specifically a Christian nation.
Furthermore, a lot of the key founders were actually deists, not Christian conservatives. John Adams was a Unitarian who rejected the trinity and Jesus as the son of God. Jefferson was highly skeptical of Christianity. He did not believe in the Trinity, the virgin birth, the divinity of Jesus, the resurrection, original sin, and other core Christian doctrines.

That was addressed in the post. I'll not repeat myself for the benefit of your empty liberal rhetoric. The scripture asserts its divinity and thusly its veracity is unquestionable.

Yep, because they were smart enough to know better. They wanted a Godly nation based on Christian (as in God of the Bible) morals and values, not an actual theocracy where gate-keeper Papal douchebags controlled the population using a bastardized Church power structure. They were some very smart, Godly men, indeed. God Bless America.

Faith is not a joke when the fate of your eternal soul is at stake. God does not ask for blind faith, for blind faith is the domain of fools. God asks for your faith and presents you with a complete user's guide on how to live a Righteous life.
All of the proof a reasonable man would need can be found inside of His Book, therefor it can be reasonably concluded that the rejection of faith is in fact illogical. Doesn't that make sense to you? If you step outside and see the sky is blue, why would you call it purple?
