Sideways Slabs/Flipping monotub substrate on side

First of all, thanks to RR, Damion5050 and FrankHorrigon (think I spelled that wrong) and many others I've had great success in my previous endeavors. Thanks!
So I'm not completely new to this.
I asked my fiance to grab me another tub and they didn't have the normal size so I wound up with a 122qt beast. It's dimensions are only as wide and long as my 66qt but it's tall.
I remember reading some (old) threads on here about lifting up slabs on their side for more fruiting area. I've read the "fors" and "againsts" and ultimately I think the "fors" have a more valid point if speed is to be taken into consideration, not overall yield.
I'm planning on testing this out by creating a 5 inch thick substrate vs my normal 3. It's going to go as your typical monotub but then once it's colonized, it's going to be placed on it's side.
I'd like to read a little more about this however. It's going to be done either way but I'd like to see more input about increased output (or lack of) in a decreased time-frame.
If you've tried this out, please provide your input!

I don't see why it'd be an issue other than weight. I've had bricks of colonized substrate split pretty easily while I was handling them for picking, dunking, etc.
The only other thing that comes to mind is water. With all that extra surface area, you're still limited in flush size by how much water your substrate can hold. So maybe a dunk to replenish the water, but then we run into the weight issue again.
I'm interested to see how it work out though, GOOD LUCK!

Yea Ive had subs split on me too.
Maybe elevate the substrate up onto like a wire rack where it can pin in all directions

Honestly anything I do with these is pretty much just for fun and also I simply find them beautiful in a weird way. I guess it's mostly the life cycle and how those tiny little spores turn into something so relatively massive. I have the same fascination with flowers trees too.
Also anything I've been doing lately is for a friend. If I were doing it myself at home I wouldn't even post about it. I'm adding this disclaimer because people say crap like SWIM.
Point is, if it breaks I don't care .
As someone else pointed out though, I may consider setting it on elevated wire or alike and will definitely be careful/have an extra set of hands to help me tilt it and hopefully not break it.
Given my average times I expect 1-2 weeks before it's ready to be there but unlike some people that start these threads and disappear, I'll definitely be posting back. I wasn't happy with the lack of answers.. not to say there weren't great ones but those threads usually turned into arguments and died.
I started on another "dark themed" site. I don't want to say which as to not promote them but if anyone's been there they can probably guess which. Truth is most of what I learned from there came from here funnily enough. People should start putting in a copyright disclaimer. I know it's hard to do much without money but a DMCA complaint would usually be enough for said site to take it down ... just a random/half-asleep-waking-up-babbling thought .
Point there is, many people from here have helped me indirectly so I'ma start giving back. This will be one and another will be a list of noob tips from my experience as another post. I'm not "pro" but I'm not "noob" anymore either and feel I can help.
Good morning guys and gals!

So I feel like I have to follow up here ...
When I posted this I didn't really look over the tub. It is not perfectly rectangular.. the 4 corners all bulge out. There's no way it'll stand on it's side.
I still plan on testing this out but it's going to have to be the next round/tub.

To be continued...
