Bought a van for £6k - gets stolen next day

That's the long and short of it.
And get this... I'm pretty sure who did it. The van was stolen so quickly and seamlessly that the person who took it probably had a key i.e. the seller. I reckon there was a tracker in the van and he (or maybe a friend) came along and fetched it.
I'm worried the insurance aren't gonna cover it...
It was a nice one - 2011 mercedes sprinter. I was gonna convert it into a camper.
I'm thinking about going down to his farm at night and having a look in his garages - he has a few large ones. I took a pic off street view.

Damn OP. Hope your okay. I would be livid. Im stoned and just gonna try to help.
It was him OP. Talkmbout im in a circle of ninjas. Were highly intelligent, quick, efficient and violent criminals. (maybe a bit exxagerated) But Why the hell would we fuck around for a 2011 mercedes van that is very noticable. And who passed this info for a recently purchased van? Know what im sayin? If it was actual crooks, they would be tazing people getting out of their sports cars in a parking lot and then stealing it to chop it up within the hour. Nah man. He stole it.
..Was it cheap to get you to buy quicker? Whered you get it..? And how long before it was stolen..? How long did you two discuss buying it..? He probably played you as a fool, GPS'd it and came back and stole it asap. What hes doin is very smart. In his mind he just made the easiest 6k, got a rush outta it, and has a gorgeous van that he needs to get rid of asap.
How would someone hotwire your van? Why a van? And why yours? Its him bro.
Its not like neighbors know all about your new van purchase, or even how the fuck to steal it. And if I knew how to hotwire cars, I certainly would be getting something more expensive than vans. And im not even sure how you could hotwire it. Its a fuckin 2011 mercedes not a 95 civic. Anyways
You know where his property is - but does he know where yours is? If he doesnt then Id be twice as pushy about finding details. What about talking to the seller again. Ask him if you can call the police and see if they can look around the farm. (which is why he has to be retarded to have the stolen van there, you cant hide it) and unless your growing pot in the garage not too many reasons to say no - especially if sincerely interested in getting stolen van back.
Im big on intuition and can easily tell if someone was lying. You look me in the eyes and tell me you didnt steal my car. Where were you yesterday at 2pm?? Look for the lies. Its not like a pack of m&ms from the store its a fuckin car. People get nervous. So see whats up with him maybe? Just keep your cool and press for info but dont be pushy.
And its very premeditated if he stole the car after selling it. Hes smart and knows exactly what he's doing, probably planned this for a while if not doing it a couple times already.
Now im trying to think. What happened to it after its stolen? Do you take it to your friends and chop it up for parts..? (a v6 wtf and that gorgeous exterior??)
Its a very nice van. Its probably being sold to someone else for good, or hiding it until he can do it again. Personally id be sketched as fuck to do both. Easily traceable for two stolen vans from same guy. But I would opt to sell it, because being anywhere near the van after its stolen and being the dealer is conviction.
But if he is hiding the van at a friends place, then theres like 0% chances for you to get it back, because they would be in on it too, and hes probably paying for that service.
What do you do with a big ass mercedes van that you stole back? Obviously try to get some form of return out of it still.
Id go in the police department and let them know what happened. Find someone who will help investigate. Its out there somewhere bro. Check all current 2011 van plates, and then check again weekly. If thats possible. But if recovered you'd have to have proof that specific vehicle is yours. Im stoned haha. I hope I could help a bit. Sorry op.

Let the police handle it. If you decide to go vigilante you could have far worse problems than a stolen van. If you know where his properties are the police can handle it better than you. If you indeed got insurance coverage the first day and cooperate with the authorities you should be fine..... unless they start thinking you are a complicit. Did you do a legal title exchange?
Why do you think the insurance won't cover it?
Actually I don't know the value of the Pound. Is it more like $2 or $1

pretty sure as well that the fucker who sold it to you stole it back. But sneeking around in his barns ? i dont know man. Could be the beginning of some more trouble... why not speak to him and tell him you know that trick and the van better be there by tomorrow. Or maybe get someone, who is "respected" in your area to do that talking for you...
