Gasket on 20qt Mini Mono

I bought a few of these 20qt sterlite tubs to make some mini-monos. They have a tight fitting lid, and also have a foam gasket that makes a decent seal with the tub:

Does anyone else use these same tubs, and if so, do you leave the foam in there or do you remove it for more GE?
Thanks

I'd remove it I see no point in anything being sealed.

What is your line of thinking in sealing shut a mini mono? I'm curious. Mushrooms/mycelium need to breath. How would you feel if I sealed you in a airtight mini mono? Probably kinda pissed off.
Mushrooms feel the same.

I don't want to seal the mono. The lid comes with the gasket, I didn't seek out this type of lid, it just happened to come with the tub.
When I remove the foam, the lid is definitely not air tight, it even seems like it would allow more GE than a 66qt mono with a standard lid. I'll be spawning some galindoi to it this coming weekend, so it can probably use the extra air.
Thanks.

Right on man. Can't really tell on the GE from pictures. I guess the only real way to see if it's proper GE is to test it out yourself.
Let us know how it goes.
