Mushrooms ahead of the cluster?

Looking for an opinion/General Guidance.

Pictured above is one of my cakes that has a nice cluster going. One mushroom is rushing ahead of the others. I looked around the forum and saw different recommendations for dealing with this. Some said cut the cap leave the stem, some said cut stem from the base, and others said to let the cluster mature. What would the forum recommend i do when the time to harvest comes in a day or two.

Just get it after veil breaks you might gently remove from cluster..or cut it at free base of stem.

I would personally just cut the stem from the base and leave the rest to mature. When the cluster is ready just twist the whole thing off, or cut others from the base if they mature ahead of the cluster.

Let the biggest one reach full maturity then pull the cluster it won't hurt anything.

you could easily harvest the larger one first. from the pic the cluster isn't to compact so it should be easy.
a cluster like this was impossible to pick individually cause it was like they all grew from the same point.

i have a tradition of eating the first cluster that grows. sometimes it has gotten me in trouble

I usually cut the cap off right after the veil breaks if I have one ahead of the others that far......
