WBS not swelling

First time doing WBS. I've been soaking it in hot water and gypsum for 24 hours now. I've been changing the water with hot water as it gets cold. I've just compared soaked grains to some dry ones and saw that they are the same size. I don't want to soak more and lose the grains due to fermantation. Is this normal? Maybe WBS doesn't change in size drastically like other grains such as wheat?

Ive found it doesnt swell THAT much. 24hr soak w/gypsum is all i do.
one time i simmered for 5min and it made the grain clumpy. no good.
when i first did wbs i took 1cup of seed put in a small pot and put in 1/5cup of boiling water/covered with lid and steeped the seed. most of them burst(no good) but it gave me a really good idea for what the seed looks like when it has all the water it could hold. i then discarded that cup and did a 24hr soak and got great results.
take a grain and cut into it with your finger nail. it should cut in half easily.

It does cut in half easily, thank you! .)
I used to use wheat as grain and over time I've found that simmering while constantly stirring it gave me better results (bigger grains without drying or getting mushy). I guess wbs is a little different.

I've found a brand which mostly has red, white and yellow millet in it. No sunflower seeds, no corn. But I'm curious about using only corn, I'm gonna try it soon.
