one chunky mother

I've got this weird looking chunky mother growing - it's the 2nd flush in a semi-successful fruiting chamber ...

... I'm a noob and this is my first grow, it looks different to other cubes that I see in the forum. Are there different types of cubes, and is this a particular species? Or is it a freak and/or result of the environment it's growing in?

Gotta love when someone tries to reinvent the wheel before ever taking a ride on a cart. Follow the proven design and have a box full of mushrooms instead of wires.

Probably just a wet B+ or some other regular cube.

So let me get this straight, you are developing a new "tek" on your first grow? This ought to be good What you really need to do is learn first, improvise second. Walk before you run or you might just do a faceplant.

Powerman5000 said: Yea it did turn out crazy complicated lol. I was racing against the clock because my cakes were almost ready to go. It took about 2 weeks and < $100 in parts. The most expensive thing was the $50 heat cord that's meant for reptile enclosures.

I didn't see that pic before. That's just fucking horrible. Throw that thing out ASAP, OP.
Should have just spent that cash on a brand new presto, which serves a much better purpose than that contraption.

Yep, the USGFCFB tek is working well
Its cubes, but not sure what strain etc. (Whats a B+?)
I love automation, even more than some ppl here love SGFC's. I consider my fruiting chamber like the Wright brothers first plane - it flies, but just barely learnt alot from it and am looking fwd to the next upgrades.
Dont get me wrong, i have no problems with SGFC, but misting and fanning manually isnt automated enough for me

Well, at least you have a stellar attitude about it. I just think what you've got going on there is a case of being "too smart for your own good", if you follow my meaning.

if some LE figure saw something like that they would think you are trying to electrocute the mushrooms into nazi supermen.
i love that you are creative but holy shit.

Next, you need a crane-like arm that can pick your shrooms for you. Equipped with some kind of AI that can detect when the optimal time for picking is. Also, you need it to wash the fruits off and load them into some kind of fancy auto drying chamber. That chamber should have AI too. You need to get a couple robots brah. Be advised, DON'T let them run you. Be careful.

Haha an arm that picks the mushrooms! Thats brilliant, ill have a crack at that in version 7
My goal is a set and forget chamber hidden away in the outside shed. It will maintain perfect temp, humidity, FAE, misting etc. using the magic of software and hardware
Ill make the next version prettier as well.
I appreciate the concerns about me electricuting myself, but other than the waterproof heat cable everything runs off a 12v battery (and solar panel) so im pretty safe
