Have mushrooms made you more spiritual?

Have mushrooms resulted in you being more likely to believe in the afterlife/spirituality? This has been the case for me. I'm still not religious, but definitely more 'spiritual'. I'm thinking about death and the afterlife/other types of consciousness almost daily now. I've Always been a deep thinker, ppl always said 'you're thinking too much, such subjects never cross my mind'. Maybe it's a result of having Asperger and being very introverted.

Definitely. Before i took psychedelics i was very sure that after life there is nothing more than an empty void but now i find myself more open to theories about life and death. The subject is very fascinating and i find myself thinking about theese things almost constantly.

Psychedelics of a natural origin (Peyote, San Pedro, Mushrooms) are how I commune with my Gods. I was deeply spiritual before being instructed in their use, but to converse DIRECTLY with one of the Ancient Ones, is an experience transcending communication.
It began with a "journey" in a cave near Steamboat Rock in Arizona. There I met The Wanderer, who led me into the earth through a tiny crack in the shallow cave's rear wall. I was shown the roots of the world, where vast "Druidic" machines work constantly to produce our atmosphere and heat the planet against the inevitable, all encompassing cold of the Void. Somehow, I managed to endear myself to The Wanderer on this journey, and afterward, he led me on many more Wanderings amid the ether, both within, and removed from The Weave of Existence.
Set and setting... I've also chowed down on some cubes and spent a few hours staring at a Jiffy Lube sign... Never had a spiritual journey under the influence of a extract, like LSD or DMT. I've Wandered completely sober, but as I said, I made a friend. I hope that Morning Glory and Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, might also be utilized in a spiritual manner, but that rests on weather or not my Gods approve of them. I stopped using LSD and have never used DMT, because of an encounter under the effects of San Pedro, when I was informed by He Who Waits In Unclouded Darkness, that The Iron God himself disapproves of most extractions because "they pervert both the soul of the essence (ethnogen) and the soul of one's self." I was also warned that these perversions can destroy the roots of one's identity. As such I now avoid them, and seek out the sacred cacti mostly.
When used recreationally, you will have a recreational "Trip". When used spiritualy you will have a trancendant experience. The Ancestors (Mayan, Aztec, Etc.) knew full well what they were doing, it is our responsibility to see to it, that this pathway to the Gods is never lost to those who would tread the path.

MogollonMonster - Give Ayahuasca a try perhaps. Remember, DMT is natural to the body, Mescaline isn't (even though it may be a wonderful compound that i have yet to try), but oral DMT is definitely different than smoked DMT. And with Ayahuasca, you don't have to use extracts, you can either make a tea or using something like Peganum Harmala and Mimosa or Acacia root, you can take the plant material itself in capsules though it'll have a rougher time on the stomach and the purge compared to a tea or extracts, or even residues, residues contain the full spectrum chemical composition so they're pretty much the same as teas, except residues can be loaded into capsules. I myself make Mimosa or Acacia root residues from time to time and encapsulate them, taking them 30 minutes or so after taking ground Peganum Harmala seed in capsules or some Harmala extract in a capsule. You definitely get more of the plant essence when going full spectrum compared to a purified extract.

I don't think I ever had any notion or believed anything supernatural before having my first nighttime mushroom experience.

I fully intend to, although in it's more traditional form. Not afraid of a rough stomach, that's just the evil spirits coming out lol. I'm sure He Who Waits In Unclouded Darkness was referring to chemical based extractions, like those involving butane, or other heavy organic solvents. I do know that the common marijuana concentrates are considered perversions, whereas, some, like green dragon (practically unheard of in my parts) are accepted. Gods are strange and willful things, but to appease them is my purpose in life.
My apologies to the OP for the minor threadjacking! I'm just excited to hope you might have the opportunity to encounter The Wanderer, and many other Beings, to learn of their true names, as I have, and experience a larger perspective of the Grand Drama that is not Life, but Existence! So many doors are open to all of us, and many delightful things to enjoy, but beware. Should you meet The Wanderer, do NOT stray from his side along your voyage, for he treads through old and lonely places, where the wind is full of mourning, and things rustle in the Deeper Darkness.
You will know him if you see him, and he is to be trusted, as are his friends. With him, you are safe. Seek him close to the stone, in caves or upon mountain tops, in canyons and valleys where stone has stood against the march of Time. There he awaits the ready traveler, to begin the journey across the ether realms, and to the far side of yourself.

Yeah, I was a real hardcore atheist and rebuked all that religious shit. That's until I had my first mushroom experience. It was very spiritual towards the end, and that's when I became spiritual. The voice inside of me told me to turn towards spirituality instead of religion. I didn't know what it meant until I began researching and became fascinated by the idea that God doesn't have to be connected to religion if you don't want it to.

Yee, I never believed in reincarnation, auras, aliens, or consciousness after death but my 1st and 2nd mush trips made me a complete believer. I don't believe in any of the established religions of the world, but I believe that we have a god like creator. An alien who created us through genetic engineering.

Mushrooms reinforced my spiritual beliefs to the point that I no longer fear dying....it is merely the beginning of another cycle.

Mushrooms are the creators of spirituality
-------------------- "In The Material World One seeks retirement and grows Old In The Magical World One seeks Enlightenment and grows Wiser In The Miraculous World One seeks nothing and grows Lighter As we all tread the Homeward Path we will explore many Realms And one day... we will all Realize that all experiences are Simply Different ways in which The All-That Is Perceives Itself"

No, I was and still am a die hard atheist. But I feel more compassionate since I started doing mushrooms. I became 90% vegetarian, I find it harder to laugh at people now. Not in an insulting way (I was never like that), but even not to their faces and just by myself - I'll see the situation from their angle or just feel sorry for them if they are actually assholes.
Still no love for jerks or bullies though.
