Of with his head.

Drink driving is wrong. It is nothing like being homo, or liking certain stuff.

Stop being a killer and expecting nothing to happen.

Jerk off....

Haha yeah, i'm a killer all right.  I jerk off as you suggest and murder all those potential children.  Thanks for your sig though.  It fits perfectly as my response to those who want to put me in jail, most ov which i have little doubt are hypocrites who are not only shitty drivers but have driven tired or on drugs as long as they are'nt alcohol.

I've certainly never driven drunk or intoxicated

The worst drivers in my observation are the people who think they drive better than everyone else, they tend to drive with some kind of sense of entitlement, its a very common attitude. "Well I can do this, because I'm special."

I'm in favor of revoking driving privileges and impounding vehicles
Arrest only if things are getting really reckless

Yes my sig is cool.

If I said, driving review with a month of driving lessons...would that be better than jail? I reckon most people would opt for that.

Jail seems very strong. Unless that person had a history of drink driving...which could not be proved unless they were convicted for every time.

New drivers do have a tendency to race, sadly young males.

A slap on the wrist for recklessly endangering people's lives?

They already failed the driving review by racing or drunk driving, I'd opt for suspending driving privileges for at least a year for first offenders.
This shits real, pedestrians and law abiding drivers die or are maimed all the time over this.
All the fucking time.

By driving drunk or illegally racing, one already proves they are too irresponsible to handle a 2000'lb vehicle capable of going over 100mph.
Let alone decide how much is too much alcohol, or where and when its "safe" to race off track.
None, nowhere, never.

I didn't mean it in that context. If you read my previous posts you will see I am against drink driving and all for capital punishment.
What I'm saying is if people were given the choice they would choose the easy way.

I think the punishments we have aren't bad, although I don't think people should lose their licence for a first offense or anything.

I do think that if you have a crazy amount of DUIs, like 10, then yeah, clearly nothing else has convinced you to not drink and drive, so let's see if jail convinces you to not drink and drive.

Or you could just not drink and drive.

Partially I think punishment should vary depending on just how shitfaced you are. There's a big difference between a driver that's had a couple versus a driver who is completely shitfaced. That shitfaced guy is much more of a danger, and his punishments should be more severe than a guy who is barely over the limit.

DUI's are tried with the first time offender almost always getting off without jail time unless there was an accident with injury or your blood alcohol was over the .20 mark.

I am all for jail time to repeat offenders after given a chance....I think there was a study done once that said pretty much that about 95% of the people who get their second DUI are either currently alcoholic or they become one. Treatment is a good idea if the offender wants to stop but usually they take treatment as a way to show the courts that you mean business....smoke and mirrors...with no real intention of stopping.

I am speaking from experience...I've had multiple DUI's and was pretty much like OP because I never had an accident and my blood alcohol never got over .20. Truth was that the DUI's were just a symptom of my shitty alcoholic life..I was a liar, a cheat and a thief and couldn't be trusted. It took jail time in Baltimore City  to finally make a decision to stop drinking...almost 18 years ago and it was the best decision of my life. There is no doubt in my mind that I would be dead right now had I continued like I was...and, more than likely, would have taken someone with me.
Jail is a good thing for an alcoholic that will not stop drinking and driving....treatment should be offered AFTER the jail time for repeat offenders.
