Well... I now have several mushrooms growing on my first straw grow in a bigass rubbermaid.  I'm VERY happy.

When the pinset fills in I'll take a picture and post it :smile:

I spawned 2L of popcorn into 5" compacted straw in a large rubbermaid container :smile:

It was cased with an inch of vermiculite.

There's a whole lot more pins on there now... I've been fanning it a lot and misting more, and it seems to love it so far :smile:  They grow SO fast... like... an inch by the time I get home from work!

The climate here is REALLY dry during the winter.  I only mist the sides of the container when they are dry, but they've been drying out faster now that many more mushrooms are growing :smile:

There's about 4 that are about 5" tall already... They've grown so fast I can't believe it...

Well... to say I'm pleased with this is an understatement.

I'm a couple days away from having a cracker dry weight for the first flush, but thusfar it is going to be near 4.25oz (cracker dry). I'm amazed. I never expected so much.

I decided to pastuerize a little more vermiculite and patch the casing. I also misted very heavily with a very weak h202 solution. I kept misting heavily for a couple of days, then left it in the dark for about 24 hours. Within 12 hours of being exposed to light again, a fat pin with a small fat cap has pushed it's way through. The second flush begins!

How does the second flush generally compare to the first in terms of yield and potency? Similar? Different?
