Cyclicing Libido?
    #23613679 - 09/05/16 03:49 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

anyone have this?

I have it. It basically is kinda like bipolar disorder, cycles of manic (super horny) and depression (not horny at all) periods throught a month.

Its a weird cycle. Super sexual to asexual then back.

Also, my hornyness goes into "stand-by" until something sexy happens.

Are these things common to you guys too?

Yup. Sounds pretty normal to my experiences.

Depression, drugs and poor diet will certainly lower your drive. Whereas things like eating certain foods and certain exercises will increase it.

I've not noticed cycles without their being a defining cause in my life, but I tend to be very analytical so it might just be that.

Also, ageing leaves one more prone to periods of lower drive without countermeasures. For most males that starts around 25.

Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

I think the more important question though is, do you see it as being a problem? Is it causing you any sort of problems in your life? Because really what is "normal" is very vague when it comes to sexuality. So if it works for you then it works.

Interesting.

My drive peaked around 16-17 for sure.

I dont see it really as a problem. I kinda like "the break" from the libido. But im asking more as a question of "is this common?"

This plus things like being bored with your sexual options can factor in. There are times I feel like shit for chasing the dopamine release but it is what it is.  Then other times it's like a pig rolling in shit.

Mine is more seasonal. I have those, but spread across months rather than weeks (and have my entire life.) I finally went to a doctor about it a while back and it turned out that I had low testosterone levels (and probably have my entire life.) After starting testosterone replacement therapy, I've equaled out and feel much better. Also, I'm almost 40.

I might have to look into that, thanks automan

That's pretty normal for me. Long periods of asexuality followed by periods of extreme hyper sexuality.
