Hey guys, I'm brand new on the forums here but I've been a fan for awhile of the great community on here.
So...
I went out late last night to go pick for some p. Cubensis, I'm in central florida and we have had overcast weather for the last 2-3 weeks now. I have gone out multiple times (some times from 4-6 AM And sometimes at 10-11 PM) I usually have the most luck at night. Anyways, the humidity and weather have all been perfect. I keep coming upon these guys which I deem to be pans of some sort. I have only just last night did I find a huge pan. Usually they are much smaller. The diameter of the cap on the big one is about 1 1/2 inches. The spore print has been confirmed multiple times on this mushies as jet black. They grew out of horse dung, and I have only seen them grow out of horse dung thus far. They have no distinct smell or anything weird like that, and they bruise chocolate brown and black. They have solid black gills and the stems are not soft, they are stiff.

Most of them definitely look like some pans cyans but typically they blue a lot stronger than that. I have the most luck in the morning because the mosquitos aren't out then! Lol...there are a couple in there tho that I wouldn't mess with!

Just curious is it possible for pans ants to bruise blue or is that the biggest difference in them and pans cyans?

And the darker gills I guess maybe too? Because most pans cyans I've seen had darker gulls than these little guys

The caps are a big clue. Also, cyanescens bruise deep blue, while antillarum do not. Gills can be lighter while they're younger and black once they mature.

Correct, in the case of these two species that is a consistent difference and probably the most obvious.
