Haha, thankfully I like sweet aniseed with a mild vanilla taste. Tarragon herb, source: BBC Good Food.
Both smell and taste, Yummy!

Once the spawn arrives we will get to see what it looks like on grain. I will also try to describe the smell, and take visual notes.
I may also need to allow growth for a few days.

Here is my vendor spawn, broken up, mixed and ready for growing.

The Summer smells, unique, only description is herb like. The Tarragon smells sweet, with a hint of vanilla.

Here is Tarragon on the updated, WL Tek. I am using 80% water content.

Looks like wood, smells like tea.

After 18 hours, most of the grains have re-hydrated and turned dark.

Notice the best growth is from the dark grain.

Here is the full 24 hours, Tarragon oyster spawn to WL Tek, with added tea. Three enhanced zoom shots.

Extremely strong, fast, dense growth. About 4x greater than I expected.

The Tarragon oyster spawn has gone boom after 1.5 days, the dark enriched grains are disappearing very rapidly.

Visible growth is so far 4x stronger than my Golden oyster grows.

Sweet, they grew out on the journey. Both looking really healthy. I hope there is enough to work with, I can send more.
Enjoy, Ferather.

Ok guys going to have to start again, but unfortunately not until the weekend. Got an infection from probably Golden oyster spores, see my post here.
Anyway the result is still positive, one potent substrate. Can grow spores, spawn and tissue samples.

Decided to do Pastywhyte's heavy spawn ratio using the new T-Tek.
Still doing open air assembly, any mold will be destroyed. Any detached mycelium will grow out like spores.

This is 120g of vendor grain spawn.

Unfortunately my room temperature has dropped down to 20°C. However here is 24 hours fully dark, using the new T-Tek.

Detached mycelium growing as expected.
