Hi Guys first time grower here you guys have helped in the past. I've done a little looking around but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.

Day 2 of Pinning. One Pin is off to a good start as seen above but it appears to be on a collision course for the next cake over. I was told to put my cakes close together to create a "micro climate" but now I'm questioning if that was actually good information pins are just starting to form on all 17 cakes.
Are my cakes too close together? If yes, What is the Proper spacing?
Also for anyone with General knowledge does misting actually help with yield.
-------------------- Started with no knowledge came here, read up and got taught. Patience is key to myco-success. Assuming makes an ASS out of U and ME so ask questions.

Im a new but from the two ms grows i have done using cakes I just move them around a little to make sure they fit but if i were you and all those cakes were healthy id make a bigger sgfc or a another one. Great looking cakes.

I just started my 3rd cake set of twelve and did 20 homemade pasty plates to play with as well.
Just hang around some one with some real knowledge will help out and you will probably hre about the basic prenciples of a SGFC.

2-3 inches between each cake, that'll at least give em room to mature than all competing for space

Honestly that should be just fine. With them that close together, you should have a awesome microclimate going on between them.
What id be more concerned about it fresh air in there, and allowing humidity to rise and fall to allow evaporation from the cake surfaces and encourage pinning. You have no holes that I can see, just a hose that I'm assuming runs from a pump?
You honestly should look up SGFC specs and just use that. It's a lot better than pumping IMO and requires little maintenance except for misting when dry, and fanning after if you choose.
-------------------- Don't like researching posts? Read this! . Also, if you're new and your posts contain the words: Humidifer, incubator, air-stone, or heater, then you need to read and UTFSE before asking people to review your setup. OR... You should be cultivating reptiles and fish, not mushrooms.

Good information. I fan 4 times a day and there is also 3 holes not pictured below the handle towards the wall. They are in a line towards the top. If recommended I can make more holes for Air exchange. What would you recommend?
