The pic is not that clear but it could be bruising. If it has a weird smell then it is a contam. Sorry I can't help you much. But green is a contam. Also I don't think you're supposed to keep a big pin on the cake while dunking, it will abort anyway so picking it before you dunk is better.

Definitely bruising. And yes you actually can dunk and roll with pins. They don't normally abort. Even if the chances are high it aborts, the fact there's a small chance it won't is better than just giving up and pulling it off. Aborts never hurt no one .

Also.. yeah myc can bruise green.

that is bruising and it has no blue to it.

Green molds are granular in texture.

Trichoderma and lookalikes:

Also just to quickly add, for those who find this thread freaking out about trichoderma...

Trichoderma and lookalikes look sandy/granular/mossy. Even their aerial mycelium looks granular and bubbly. Bruising, although can be green, literally looks like discolored mycelium. Trichoderma/trichoderma lookalikes look like this:

- La Flama Blanca
This pic shows multiple molds.. Notice they're all granular looking. Even the non-green ones. Those are spores.

- taGyo
- Google
Look at how the mycelium looks bubbly and granular. Not at all like cubensis.

Trich that took over an entire tub:

Hope this helps out people in the future, just sharing my experiences.

Awesome!

Thanks very much.  I'm just starting and that is the only jar that didn't contaminate.  Thanks for the pics as well!  I'm still getting the hang of this.
