Success: Growing Turkey Tails on Pasteurized Sawdust

Hey Shroomers!
Wanted to inform you all of a little experiment I've completed. I grow Oysters in my grow room, and thought to myself since Turkey tails have a quick growth rate, why not try to pasteurize the sawdust, increase the grain spawn used and see if I can't get a fruiting product at the end to sell at markets and to help anyone out there that wants to grow these at home without needing a laminar flowhood or sterile procedure.
This information needs to be public, especially due to the anti-cancer effects of Turkey Tails. I used a lovely nice hardwood sawdust that I was given for free for this project, and this is my first time ever growing turkey tails. They've taken on a beautiful orange hue from the sawdust and are quite lovely to watch steadily growing in size.
"EDIT" Forgot to mention, that white powder on the top & everywhere is food grade Diatomaceous earth haha, I put it everywhere due to a little gnat problem
If anyone wants a rundown on how I did it, I'll be happy to help out! Hope you all found this interesting
Keep shroomin' folks!

First let me start off by saying hello and welcome- you are amongst passionate friends, and the knowledge you can gain by the peer review conducted on this site is insurmountable- use the search function, ask questions, and share your delight in cultivation with us! Glad to have you aboard, can't wait to see what you have to add to our community.
Looking good so far! What kind of Fruiting Chamber do you have? What kind of sawdust are you working with? Also, check out Lipa's Fuel Pellet Pasteurization Tek. Does DE help cut down on gnats? (First I've heard of it).
And as a side note- check my journal out- I am lacking Turkey Tail in my library- I would be more than willing to trade you something (or more than one for the fun of spreading my babies out into the world). If you are interested- PM me!

Thankyou for the warm welcome brother! Looking forward to sharing my knowledge and learning from others immensely!
So my fruiting chamber is in a 3x3x2 hydroponic tent customized to grow mushrooms. At the moment I'm growing in huge bags and for some reason can't remember for the life of me exactly what this sawdust was! I got it for free from a local timber mill and made sure it was chemical free and hardwood.
It sure does! DE will destroy anything with an exoskeleton! Sucks the life right out of them and physically destroys them. I have struggled with gnats severely and after months of studying them way too closely to the point of obsession I've learnt a way to destroy them completely from a grow room and I'm gonna post an article on that on here to help anyone else with this horrible, horrible problem.
Of course brother, how would you like for me to send them to you? Would you prefer for me to isolate them on agar or for a fresh fruiting body to be sent? I can also send you some grainspawn if you'd like Only concern is I'm in Melbourne, Australia and don't know what sending things overseas (If you are overseas) is like! Let me know, I'd love to get my hands on that phoenix oyster you have! Would be an amazing addition to the Pink and Gold oysters I'm growing this summer! (Correct me if I'm wrong, it's a warm weather strain isn't it?)

Check out EvilMushroom666's Wedge Tek - I have traded all around the world on the cheap using this and it's honestly so much fun to me. To know that I am growing Cordyceps from Croatia, and that my various oysters are sprouting up all across the globe is just thrilling to me. I'm currently trying to grow my library, including wild in edibles I find around here- I want a whole yard dominated by mushrooms
I can send you the Phoenix (which yes is a warm temp) and a handful my of empty centrifuges to get you started. PM me!

Very cool. I look forward to your full write up when the turkey is in full plumage. Turkey tail is a very important mushroom for treating diseases and more information needs to be spread in this forum.

Sorry, but those are not turkey tails...
And given the prevalence of wild turkey tails its crazy pointless to grow them.
