First monotub post consolidation questions

I just checked on my first monotub consolidations process and noticed a few pins poking out so I decided to introduce it to FAE. Couple of quick questions:
1. How does it look? I was hoping for a thicker layer of mycelium on top, hoping it will continue to thicken up. BTW, this has been consolidating for about 14-16 days. 2. Should I do a little misting? 3. I pealed off a small section of the duct tape around the tub to see how things were looking--what are these little yellow dots?
Any other input or guidance during this phase would be great.

1. It looks just fine. It's definitely ready for fruiting.
2. I would do a light mist in your case and immediately introduce FAE. Fan all that Co2 out of there because it's high right now at the surface. After mist and fan, open up your traditional mono holes, stuff with poly, and let it go.
3. Yellow dots look like where pins are starting/mushroom metabolites are being released. It's happening near the sides because of the slightly increase fresh air and humidity there.

Great, thank you for the reply.
Would you recomend just the initial misting and leaving it be or should I mist on a regular schedule? Also, 12/12 light schedule?

Initial mist and fan then no more misting and fanning unless you need it. Fanning never hurts but you don't really need to do it unless you mist, which you won't be doing with a mono. 12/12 light schedule with 6500k.
Post pics when it fruits bro. I'd like to see it.

You should learn to 'read' your substrate when to mist.
Are there beads of water across your substrate?

Agreed. Do a couple of these and you'll learn when and when not to mist just by looking at the surface. If you can't tell with your eyes, touch it with a clean finger. If your finger gets wet on the surface, it's good. If it's dry to the touch, it could probably use a mist.
Like I said, monos generally don't need misted though. If you decide to use an SGFC though, you will need to often.

He does not have a traditional mono though so he will have to keep an eye on it. ..you want those beads at all times

Ah, I looked at the pic again. Missed the holes you have. Cron is of course correct.

Thanks again, I will be on the look out for moisture issues. Tried a SGFC style on a small scale as this is my first run through with a monotub and am more comfortable with that style. Thanks again for the responses!

You've got some knotting, shouldn't be more than a few days.
Did you use a casing layer? It shouldn't have dark spots if you didn't.
