Do you have your own place?

I have my own place, and sometimes I get super proud about it. It's fucking awesome having your own place. I know a lot of you guys are still young though and many probably still live at home. There's nothing wrong with that (as long as you don't grow/sell drugs in your parents house), when I joined the shroomery I lived with my parents.
I'm kindof curious how many of you have your own homes vs. how many still live at home. So I made the poll below.
Do you have your own place? Do you enjoy having your own place, or do you miss a time when you were at home/with roommates/etc.? And finally, just to get some real discussion going, do you think a person needs to have their own place before you consider them an adult/respect them?

Couldn't be bothered with the poll. But I do live alone.

Should have asked who owns a home or rents as well.

That's a great suggestion. I'll answer. I rent.

I considered it! The only reason I didn't is that I already asked that question in a previous poll. I probably should have just asked it anyway

I'm always either renting with others, crashing on someones couch, or occasionally hoboin.
As far as respect, money has nothing to do with it

bought my first house in 2011, sold it after I divorced and moved. Bought second one in late 2014. In the process of selling and moving back into an apartment closer to where I work for now.
Home ownership is pretty dank but it's a lot of responsibilities and particularly if there's HOA involvment there's hella bullshit. Apartments are aight.

I bought my first house last year. I love having my own place. It's especially awesome because I have a space for my band to practice in my basement, and my place has become the hangout place for all of my friends.

Yes in the fact that your money is actually going towards something rather then pissing it away.
Home ownership is full of surprises though.

Yeah my last roommate was hella unshroomy. Always smoking my weed and shit. I think I'm just gonna pay the extra money for my sanity and/or peace of mind

you can deal on the side to pay your rent and utility costs :nosetap:
I went big with my place, its about 50,000 sq ft, no roommates, pretty spooky, though i pay nearly nothing for it, got it through a lucky encounter.
my advice is, never stop searching, even after you get a place, keep an eye out for a better one. you can always bail on your current lease.

I was less than 3 weeks from signing over on this place a year ago:

I rented it for 3 years and then made the owner an offer of £380,000. 3 bed, massive living room, great garden. It's in a a prime spot in location to London so very highly saught after too. Then my wife went downhill on self destruct and ended up in rehab. The owners were kind enough to let me stay on another year whilst I got my life in order, now I'm back at my parents place at 32 for 6-8 months while I get shit sorted to emigrate to Australia.
Just before I moved out, it was back on the market for £460,000. INSANE price increase for a year, but it was fucking lonely living there by myself after my wife left. Was literally bouncing off the walls at times.
Moving back with my parents for a while has had a really unexpected benefit - my relationship with them has grown massively, and I'm so grateful for it.
TL;DR - I wouldn'y live in a a big place by myself again. In future, I'll either houseshare, or live in a very small house myself. Wouldn't be caught dead in an apartment though, done that, HATE the physical proximity to people...

I'm hella ashamed of my place. It's just depressing. Folding chairs and tables. Ain't gonna pull any tail back here for awhile. My mom came by and I think she
